Ensure business is able to operate in the most effective and efficient way, reducing double handling, and confusion over responsibility for tasks.  The office is the 'engine room'​ of an organisation, and if it is running efficiently, will enhance the overall operations of the business.  

It is essential therefore to undertake periodic reviews to ascertain whether the business is reaching its peak performance.   OFFICE Dynamics Adelaide will work with management to assist business in achieving a high level of service to their customers.

Effective Document & Records Systems, consistently managed, are essential in keeping the wheels of business fully operational ensuring high level efficiencies are maintained. The cost of double handling information can be crippling in both time expended and budgetary impacts..  

Executive Assistants need to be well trained on systems that are incorporated into the C-Suite, as the responsibility for conversion control and file management practices will come under their control.

By undertaking an audit of work practices, any inconsistencies will be highlighted.  Ideally creating a procedural manual will be an excellent tool when staff are either away or leave suddenly.  Consistency of work will ensure productivity is not effected when situational change occurs.

Roles can include Managers, Team Leaders, Project Officers, Executive/Personal Assistants, Administrative Support Officers etc.

The Institute is affiliated with similar professional associations for office professionals in the USA, UK, Asia, South Africa and New Zealand, and participates in the International Summit for Office Professionals held every two years.

Our Vision is to be the leading organisation that provides pathways to educate, develop and mentor its members as office professionals.

Past National President / Chair Board of Directors - AIOP

Mining Regulation, Minerals & Energy Resources, DMITRE

I was responsible for a number of projects:-
1.  Managing branch budget, monitoring monthly expenditure and creating reports for branch manager.
2.  Appointment of Mining Inspectors and Authorized Officers, under both the Mining Act and Mines and Works Inspection Act, including writing of Cabinet Submissions for these appointment to be approved by Cabinet.
3.Fleet Manager for the branch, including leasing of replacement vehicles, ongoing maintenance, reconciliation of monthly charges, plus manage the ongoing record keeping for the fleet.
4.  Instrumental in implementation of a Quality Management System for management of records, both electronic and manual.

Senior Project Officer

Defence SA

Contractual Position.

1.  Primarily supported the GM - diary management, project management, workflows.
2.  Supported the Business Development Team consisting of five other Directors
3.  Coordinated VIP visits for Federal Defence personnel, plus all stakeholders.

Additional duty during my contract was to manage the Secretariat for the Space Working Group and affiliated committees.

Achievements during my contract were:

1.  Initiated a revitalized records management system.
2.  Initiated a document control system
3.  Amalgamated multiple electronic filing systems into a unified system
4.  Established a document registration process
5.  Established a follow up system to ensure all deadlines for the BD team were met.

Executive Assistant to General Manager, Business Development

Mining Regulation & Rehabilitation Branch, Minerals & Energy Resources  PIRSA

Responsible for managing the provision of a comprehensive and efficient Business Support Service to the Mining Regulation branch (30 staff).

1.  Team Leader of four administration staff including managing performance and professional development for that team.
2.  Provided executive support to the Branch Manager / Chief Inspector of Mines.
3.  Managed the Secretariat for the Strathalbyn Community Consultative Committee.

Achievements:
*  Instigated full records management and document control systems within the Branch
*  Instigated fortnightly meetings for the administrative team
*  Build a strong working relationship within the team and more broadly, the branch.
*  Project managed the Ministerial Council of Minerals, Petroleum, Resources meeting held in Adelaide in 2005.
*  Established an Administrative Taskforce to consolidate processes and ensure greater efficiencies and control mechanisms were in place across the MER Agency.

Senior Administrator for Mining Regulation & Rehabilitation Branch

Minerals and Energy Resources, PIRSA

Managed the Executive Office by supporting the Executive Director, plus two other Directors.  I was responsible for the supervision and ongoing professional development of an Administrative Assistant.

The overall operations of MER included over 200 staff located in two separate buildings within the CBD.
