I LOVE everything about recruitment (well almost!) and have been working in this sector for my entire career, that's almost 30 years! Mainly hiring Finance talent but also HR, IT and Legal, from entry level roles to the Boardroom. My early career was spent working for a few hugely successful household names and culminated by going solo (well duo!) and setting up Firefly in 2012. I guess the mini entrepreneur in me had been unleashed (put much of this down to my late Father 😍) Fast forward to March 2020 and Covid changed so much for us all. Big time (sorry but had to mention it). Our industry changed, hiring was put on hold, internal talent teams grew and I became abundantly aware how outdated our sector was. Aside from the introduction of email and the internet (no more faxing CV's and collecting hardback Annual Reports!), recruitment had not progressed as quickly as others, fact. At the same time I had immersed myself with an MLM company (I hear you sigh!) I was spreading the word about the incredible health benefits of drinking ketones and I loved the challenge of MLM, it taught me so much, mainly to be braver than I already thought I was! It was without question pivotal to creating and building SearcHive, our new cloud based platform full of the very best Finance talent! Olivia is 20 and in her third year at The University of Edinburgh, an absolute perfectionist and the hardest worker I have ever come across, my biggest fan and best critic, anything social media has to have her eagle eyes on it before I post :-) Finlay is 18 and in his A' Level year, he loves everything sport and is a natural at any ball sport, Rugby, Golf and Football being firm favourites. He is also hugely enquiring when it comes to business, is a natural networker, and constantly reminding me to strive for the life I desire whilst always being my authentic self. I am passionate about promoting working women, the benefits of hybrid working, the mum returner, ketones (not the diet!), helping the young start their career regardless of their exam success and positive mental health.
