I’ve seen far too many of these posts lately; 

This script booked me 5,000,000 calls and closed £7,654,125 revenue. 

Comment “mr potato head” and I’ll share it with you 

Don’t fall for the bullsh*t

There’s no silver bullet 

They more than likely work for a huge brand, so they aren’t phonetically spelling out their company name on every call 

And they more than likely sell to a different persona than you in a different industry 

Ultimately, what works for someone else might not work for you 

We’re all different and that’s great 

Find what works for you. 

Not some juiced up fella who wears a string vest

“I don’t take cold calls and this is my private number can you remove me from your list. What were you calling about?”

“We’re ready to go ahead. Can you send us over a contract?”

This is the best way to reach your prospects…

Email them before you cold call means you are warm calling your prospect.

You know when your phone starts buzzing?

Your phones always on silent right?

You’re not one of those freaks who has the sound on, so everybody can hear you texting?

Unfollow me if you are.

Anyway, your phones buzzing.

Quick Look at who it is!

“What the f*ck do they want?”

Could be your best pal, sister or even your mum.

Who cares.

You weren’t expecting the call.

That’s a cold call.

Remember that today when you’re calling someone who won’t have your number saved.

Don’t believe the BS saying that if you’ve emailed or added them on here, it means it will be warmer.

You’re calling someone who isn’t expecting your call.

Having second thoughts?

Might as well send a personalised meme.

At some point this week, you’ll most likely be going into a conversation as an underdog

It could be an interview 

Or a sales call 

You ‘ll be staring adversity in the face. 

You might even start on the wrong foot 

At no point should you give up. 

Channel your inner Coventry City and give it all you’ve got. 

You might not get the outcome you deserve but as long as you give it everything you’ve got, leave with your head held high

Working remotely can sometimes be lonely.

Even more so when your team is spread across multiple countries and time zones.

You’re sipping your tea and suddenly you get a great idea. 

You check slack. 

Nobody else is online. 

What makes it worse, your perfect idea will help the CS team. 

However, you work in sales and you’ve never actually met anyone who works in the CS team. 

It might take you days to track down somebody to speak with, going back and forth just trying to get in touch with somebody. 

Your idea could have a huge impact on the business but this is slowing you down. 

This is happening in businesses every single day across the globe. 

Surely there’s got to be a better way?

There are several key reasons beyond just pay that motivates people to stay in their roles and remain engaged over the long term:

Growth Opportunities

If like me you want to feel like you are continuously learning, developing new skills, and advancing in your careers you need to be at a company that provide clear paths for upward mobility, whether through promotions or lateral moves into new roles and give you something to work towards.

Meaningful Work

When you feel your work has purpose and makes an impact, it cultivates a strong sense of engagement. Having a line of sight into how your efforts contribute to the broader mission motivates people.

Strong Culture Fit

Feeling alignment with a company's values, people, and environment goes a long way. If the company culture meshes with your personality and preferences, you'll be more satisfied.

What's keeping you in your role?

You know who would make a great coach / mentor for you new employees?

People who have been in the role for a couple of years. 

They must have the job nailed by now. 

They haven’t left, so they must be happy.

As they’ve been in the role a few years, they don’t need anymore training.

They live and breathe the job. 

Great idea.

The below are some of the potential downsides to mentoring

While mentoring offers growth benefits, dysfunctional mentoring carries risks:

-Cronyism and Insider Favoritism
- Knowledge Hoarding Over Sharing
- Career Capping From Outdated Advice
- Inappropriate Relationship Boundaries

Strong program governance like mentoring agreements, selection criteria and structured check-ins help mitigate pitfalls. Left unchecked, mentoring can devolve.

Prioritising healthy developmental dynamics is key.
