At the age of 21, as a new teacher, I thought I was a mediocre employee with limited upside. I had been a high achiever all my life but I thought perhaps the adult working life was just the challenge I couldn't meet. And yet, I didn't fully believe this could be possible. I knew something needed to change. And a stranger on a plane serendipitously gave me the final push to explore a career in business. I learned SO much in my search, and landed in the perfect place for me. It was a firm where I spent the next seven years in a virtuous cycle that helped make me who I am today. I had an amazing boss (who is now my business partner! But that's a story for another day). I was empowered to try new projects and responsibilities and share my ideas for where I could add more value. I was shown endless gratitude from all my coworkers, and rewarded for my accomplishments. Little by little I re-embodied my identity as a high performer, and I ultimately had a huge role in building a system within the company to allow other people to learn, grow, and perform to their highest potential. I was bursting at the seams with excitement to help people benefit from what I had learned and created. And I knew that more and more leaders were starting to understand why being good to the humans in their businesses (including themselves) should become their number one strategic priority. That’s why I went ALL IN with Whitney Kenter when she founded Glowe in 2020. To help change the biggest problem in business - the massive waste of human energy in traditional business environments - into its greatest opportunity. To help leaders who feel the sea-change create new ways to run their companies that truly put people and all their wonderful strengths, passions, and big dreams at the center of everything.
