• Open sourced two projects; TechIsHiring's website and The Twitter bot that powers #TechIsHiring
• Built the TechIsHiring website that shows the latest tweets from TechIsHiring, allows people to sign up for the newsletter and view previous newsletters. Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Storybook, Tailwind CSS, Chakra UI, Atomic Design, Component-Driven Design and Deployed on Vercel
• Migrated TechIsHiring bot to Twitter API v2, improving development experience and updating bot to ban accounts from being retweeted using Twitter's mute account feature
• Led front-end redesign, commissioning UI / UX Designer to update design and managing open source
contributions to update relevant components, updating Storybook & improving the developer experience through improving software architecture, mentoring and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Some my major accomplishments as a Developer Advocate:

• Established a community of over 15,000 users across multiple platforms globally who actively advertise jobs ranging from smaller teams to large tech companies or are actively seeking opportunities of various skill sets.
• Launched a newsletter that gained over 1,000 subscribers to promote jobs and job seekers in the community as well as advertising informational articles that support job seekers in their current or future job search

Public Speaker

Open Sauced

Co-hosting Twitter Spaces that centered around open source topics and writing articles on software development at Open Sauced including development of the Open Sauced Insights Platform.

Led Front-End development of the OpenSauced Insights Platform, a dashboard with an authorization flow, visualizing repo & contributor data & downloading reports, written in Next.js (React.js), TypeScript and Tailwind using a Component-Driven Design approach, the Atomic Design System and Storybook to document the components.

My most proud accomplishments:
• Launched primary revenue source for OpenSauced, the Insights Platform, which indexes and delivers insights on 90,000+ GitHub repos and their contributors for organizations & events like Digital Ocean’s Hacktoberfest.
• Improved engineering ticket turnaround time from days to hours and engineer onboarding by implementing an Atomic Design & Component-Driven Design based architecture, building a Design System and documenting it with Storybook.

Front End Lead

Ingenuity Technologies Limited

On assignment at National Commercial Bank Jamaica, the largest financial institution in Jamaica generating $756 million in annual revenue. Proudly took part in the launch of 5 products for the Credit Card Web Portal, a highly scalable web application built in React, Redux, Material UI, Sass and Springboot that has signed up over 1000+ new credit card accounts.

My most proud accomplishments included:
• Implementing mission critical updates to application to meet regulatory requirements in the temporary absence of other Front End Engineers.
• Enabled conversion of non-account holding customers, unlocking JMD$15M/year in revenue by collaborating with UI/UX Designers, Business Analysts on app redesign including developing a streamlined app for integration with a solution developed by another team in the organization.
• Decreasing ramp-up time of new team members by up to 75% by writing a team handbook that described the team culture, the technologies used on the project and other technical related information

Frontend Engineer

This is a software development and design company earning $6 million annually and employing 34 people. Run as a tech start-up, I was given the opportunity to be a part of many different projects using very different technology stacks.

My key accomplishments came from giving the company access to a brand new revenue stream by utilizing the elastic stack to facilitating the searching, analysis and visualization of business metrics, acquired from multiple sources.

Full Stack Engineer

Nova Southeastern University

Was part of a team that managed the on premises servers that faculty of the school of engineering used for their classes for server space, specific applications for classes and general IT help for faculty.

My most proud accomplishment here was leading a work shop on a technology called Web Ratio to be used in a Software Engineering class because I had done well in that class previously. The resulting work shop lead to an over 90% pass rate of students for that particular class that year.

System Administrator

As a freelance Software Engineer, I completed several client projects, including a HOA web app and several artist portfolio websites.

Was part of a team that built a proof-of-concept full stack application for a Home-Owner's association which included a web front-end, mobile application and a fully functioning back-end. I primarily built the back-end which was done in PHP Laravel that connected to a MySQL database and designed and built an AJAX web front-end.

Contracted to build the website 'The Art of JB' by Jason Brown. Collaborated with UI/UX Designer to create a design for an artist portfolio based on his unique style to draw and work on his art. and built a parallax-scrolling single page website which a JQuery gallery featuring the artist's work!

Contracted to build an artist portfolio website which included a web front end and a back-end. Designed the website in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe FireWorks to represent the artist's comic book art style and interest. The web front-end was built in Adobe Flash using ActionScript 3 and the back-end was a custom PHP back-end that connected to a MySQL database.

Contracted to work on e-commerce website selling video games. Collaborated with UI/UX Designer to redesign the web store front. Web front-end was built in HTML, CSS, vanilla JavaScript and the backend was a PHP content management system that kept track of inventory for both the website and a brick-and-morter store.

Artisian Designs Inc

• Took Photoshop/Illustrator website designs and implemented them with HTML / CSS sites.
• Continued to add features to previously launched websites as well as added content, made design tweaks.

As a Software Engineer, I deliver software solutions for local startups to international enterprise organizations onsite and remote, generating millions of dollars in revenue and saving hundreds of hours in Engineering time. I'm also Founder of TechIsHiring, building bridges to make tens of thousands of others’ journeys into tech easier.

The type of opportunities I'm interested in exploring are Senior positions or leading software teams in building large-scale software systems, in a remote or hybrid capacity. Would love to do this work within the eSports / gaming space as I'm a 13+ year veteran of the Fighting Game Community and eSports Athlete for Capcom's Street Fighter fighting game series. Would also be interested in opportunities in FinTech and Developer Tooling as well.
