I am Narayanan. Everyone calls me Rayn - It's easy. I am a LinkedIn super user - It’s been 10 years since I started using this platform, and I found my first job, my first podcast guest, my first speaking opportunity, literally everything corporate-first, I have found here. I am starting a journey to empower young minds here. Here I will share byte-sized wisdom to help you #OwnYourLife and move from a ‘Whatever to What Matters’ attitude. I co-founded my first startup in the Edtech sector, Unschool, in 2019. And, were ranked #3 on the Linkedin Top Startups List 2020. We’re a growing startup in the upskilling space with backing from Y Combinator and some renowned angles like Kunal Shah and Mekin Maheshwari. Let me tell you a little more about me, here’s some context; Due to a focus which was solely on education (theory/curriculum-based), I was asked to leave things that I loved, Lawn Tennis, Theatre and Music. It hurt me deeply and I decided to chalk out my path - so, I quit formal education and dropped out of College in 2015. I worked at McDonald's in the 1st semester of college and gained an interest in Management. Also, learned how to make great burgers and fries. Later, I dedicated 6 years to volunteering at AIESEC and wrapped up as the National President of AIESEC Nepal. My interest in Sales, Marketing and Entrepreneurship gained traction here. Forward to 2018, I bagged my first job that paid me a ton of money (for a non-graduate) - I realised I was worth something with the experience I gained after college. And, a phone call from Rahul changed the rest. In 2019, quit my full-time job, moved to Hyderabad and started building Unschool. As a highlight, I have worked with brands such as, Coca-Cola, Asian Development Bank, NCell, Alcatel Lucent, InterGlobe, Teach for India mainly in activations and campaigns. I am not sure if this story resonated with most of you. I owned my life (still) and I am sure most of you are too - you’re yet to realise it.
