I am Narayanan. Everyone calls me Rayn - It's easy. I'm currently building caisy.io, where we're innovating in the digital content management space. My entrepreneurial journey began in 2019 when I co-founded Unschool, an EdTech startup. With backing from Y Combinator and renowned angels like Kunal Shah and Mekin Maheshwari, we've been making significant progress in the upskilling space. We were recognised on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2024 and included in HolonIQ's list of top 200 EdTechs in Asia along with being ranked #3 on LinkedIn's Top Startups List 2020. My path hasn't always been conventional. Here's more on that, Due to a focus which was solely on education (theory/curriculum-based), I was asked to leave things that I loved, Lawn Tennis, Theatre and Music. It hurt me deeply and I decided to chalk out my path - so, I quit formal education and dropped out of College in 2015. I worked at McDonald's in the 1st semester of college and gained an interest in Management. Also, learned how to make great burgers and fries. Later, I dedicated 6 years to volunteering at AIESEC and wrapped up as the National President of AIESEC Nepal. My interest in Sales, Marketing and Entrepreneurship gained traction here. Forward to 2018, I bagged my first job that paid me a ton of money (for a non-graduate) - I realised I was worth something with the experience I gained after college. And, a phone call from Rahul changed the rest. I'm passionate about helping others move from a 'Whatever' to a 'What Matters' mindset. This passion has led me to create the 'Whatever Matters' newsletter, which now reaches over 100,000 subscribers. I also host the 'Chalk Me Out with Rayn' podcast, where we dive deep into these concepts and share inspiring stories. I am not sure if this story resonated with most of you.
