As a Salesforce certified administrator, I support a staff of 50 by creating and maintaining database features (flows, reports, dashboards, connectors, etc.). I also provide data analysis to help improve the effectiveness of student-focused programming and increase engagement.

Oakland Promise offers cradle to college and career support to Oakland students, assisting youth in seeking out and thriving in higher education.

I managed portfolio of 40 institutional funders, raising $360,000 and submitting 75+ proposals/reports annually. Supporting a Institutional Giving team in raising $4.5 million, I was the lead in maintaining grant data in Blackbaud CRM. Documented and developed queries for grant awards, deadlines, and prospect research.

Alameda County Community Food Bank passionately pursues a hunger-free community. Our vision is to reach a day when the children, adults, and seniors of Alameda County do not worry about where their next meal is coming from.

Reading Partners

I played a key role in raising $1.4 million in private philanthropy for the organization's Silicon Valley region, with responsibilities including:

• Composing and submitting grant proposals and reports
• Researching potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors
• Maintaining 400+ donor records and compiling reports in Salesforce
• Assisting in planning fundraising events, board meetings, donor site visits, and training presentations

In conjunction with my fundraising projects, I spearheaded Silicon Valley communication channels by:

• Developing regional marketing materials, including newsletters, solicitation letters, event posters, videos, and social media collateral
• Leading a small team in establishing and maintaining an engaging, locally-focused social media presence with 1,000+ followers
• Composing personalized correspondence for the Executive Director and other leadership staff, aiming to engage individual donors and potential partners

Reading Partners is a national education nonprofit that helps children become lifelong readers. Serving elementary schools in underserved neighborhoods, Reading Partners empowers community volunteers to provide individualized instruction to students reading below grade level.

San Francisco Education Fund

I planned and executed the 500-guest 50th anniversary gala of the Ed Fund, with responsibilities including:

• Soliciting sponsorships from corporate, foundation, and individual partners, as well as in-kind donations from wine and liquor companies, media partners, and items for the auction
• Writing and publishing marketing material, including press releases and webpages
• Creating slideshows projected during the event
• Oversaw administrative and logistical event details 

The Gala successfully raised over $630,000 in individual, corporate, and foundation sponsorships.

The San Francisco Education Fund harnesses the power of the San Francisco community to equip public school students -- especially those in underserved communities -- with the skills to succeed in college, career and civic responsibility. The Ed Fund engages volunteers in classrooms and provides grants to educators.

In my summer internship with KQED Public Television, I assisted the producers of Check, Please! Bay Area, a local restaurant review show. My duties included:

• Organizing video archives and production files
• Transcribing interviews conducted by producers
• Researching cuisine-related topics and writing the food trivia questions that appear between show segments
• Reviewing guest applications

KQED serves the people of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media, provides citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions, and takes people of all ages on journeys of exploration—exposing them to new people, places and ideas.

Television Production Intern

UC Berkeley

With one of the largest library collections in the United States, the UC Berkeley Library serves as an invaluable source of academic support for the campus' 40,000+ students, staff, and scholars.

As a guardian of UC Berkeley's main library complex (Doe/Moffitt/Main Stacks), I greeted and answered questions from patrons at the library's front desks. In my security duties, I explained and enforced library policy, as well as formally open and close the building and its study rooms. When shift leader, I also supervised a staff of three to six; kept a daily log of library incidents; acted as a point of contact for authorities, academic department personnel, event coordinators, custodial staff during library emergencies and events; and managed the library's lost and found database.

East Bay Consortium

The East Bay Consortium's mission is to increase the number of students finishing high school and enrolling in postsecondary institutions, providing low-income and underrepresented students with intensive educational enrichment.

As a College Advisor with the EBC, I provided individualized college admissions counseling to disadvantaged high school students at a non-traditional Oakland school. I also created informational materials, including a monthly scholarship newsletter, and assisted at weekend financial aid application workshops.
