 Veteran Engagement Manager - Southern Indiana

OVERVIEW: 
SSVF Health Care Navigators provide services that include connecting Veterans to VA health care
benefits or community health care services where Veterans are not eligible for VA care. SSVF health
care navigators provide case management and care coordination, health education, interdisciplinary
collaboration, coordination, and consultation, and administrative duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acts as a liaison between the SSVF grantee and the VA or community medical clinic and works
with a population of Veterans with complex needs who require assistance accessing health care
services or adhering to health care plans.
• Conducts assessments of the Veteran in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team,
the Veteran, family members, and significant others.
• Serves as a resource for education and support for Veterans and families and helps identify
appropriate and credible resources and support tailored to the needs and desires of the
Veteran.
• Provides comprehensive case management and care coordination across episodes of care—the
incumbent acts as a health coach by proactively supporting the Veteran to optimize treatment
interventions and outcomes.
• Identifies the Veteran and family's health education needs and provides education services and
materials that match the health literacy level of the Veteran. 
• Provides ongoing education support as needed to the Veteran and family member.
• Ensures and links Veterans and caregivers to supportive services, which include, but are not limited housing, financial benefits, transportation.
• Identifies systemic barriers within the organization, communicates with organizational leadership and works collaboratively to find viable solutions.
• Assists in developing policy, procedures, and practice guidelines related to the specialty program using knowledge gained from research or best practices.

Build a personal rapport with the club
Provide the new club with an overview history of TI, the organization structure, and the relationship between the organization and the club member
Explain the entire educational system (review the Competent Communication and Effective Leadership manuals).
Acquaint the members with all of the educational programs and activities TI has to offer (i.e. Speechcraft, Youth Leadership, the Success/Communication and Success/Leadership programs, speech contests, debates, etc.
Work with club officers explaining their duties and responsibilities
Help Club members build positive habits (these are the kinds of behavior you want to display long after you left the group.)  Emphasize these positive habits:
Regular attendance at meetings.
Manual speeches.
Diligent preparation.
Excellent evaluations.
Positive, enthusiastic attitude. In all of TI’s most successful clubs, members gain strength from a shared commitment to a worthwhile goal: self improvement for all members.
Special attention to guests and new members.
Plan joint meetings with other clubs sot he members will have an opportunity to see how other clubs operate.
Review TI’s Supply Catalog with the club and explain how they can benefit from the materials offered.
Encourage Club members to attend Area, Division, District, Region and International meetings.
Keep your District Governor informed of your progress.

Club Mentor

A club coach is an experienced Toastmaster who coaches a club to rebuild membership and restore quality to the club environment. The goal of a coach is to help the club achieve recognition in the Distinguished Club Program, which is accomplished by:

Building rapport with club leaders and members
Instilling enthusiasm, comradery and structure within the club
Assessing the club environment and recommending best practices for success
Working with club leaders to develop a Club Success Plan
Encouraging the club to strive for Distinguished Club Program recognition

Club Coach 

The VP Public Relations handles maintaining and building the club's image. The role involves internal and external communications. 

The VPPR plans, organizes, and implements programs to maintain the positive image of the club and Toastmasters for all guests, members, and the general public. Common activities overseen include press releases, publicity campaigns, website maintenance, media representation, and club newsletters.

Vice President of Public Relations

The Vice President Membership (VPM) manages the activities that sustain and increase the number of members in the club. The primary responsibilities of this role involve marketing and some administration.

The VPM plans, organizes, and implements a continuous marketing effort to ensure that club membership remains above club charter strength (20 members). This is accomplished both by retaining current members (working with the VPE) and by gaining new members (working with the VPPR). The VPM is responsible for the semi-annual membership reports to Toastmasters International and for keeping the membership roster and attendance records.

• Manage the day to day operations of all programs 
• Manage, hire, train and schedule staff.
 • Responsible for the financial performance of individual programs; complete purchasing of program supplies; and review and submit billing compliance documentation. 
• Maintain and foster relations with individuals receiving services, families and guardians; implement individual’s satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate. 
• Implement program incident management protocols; ensure timely incident reporting and implementation of corrective action.

• Implement Network employee practices; implement program safety and workers’ compensation programs; recommend and assist with involuntary terminations and written warnings; provide employee orientation and training. 
• Maintain licensing and compliance for program services and supports; assure timely and accurate program documentation. • Implements area core growth strategy to increase census, maximize utilization and occupancy percentages, and assists with new start development as appropriate.
 • Maintains and fosters relations with case managers and referral agents; participates in building relationships with local legislators and government officials; and lobbies on behalf of consumers and Network as appropriate. 
• Implements area strategies to maintain and foster relations with consumers, mentors, families and guardians; and implements consumer satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate 
• Other duties as assigned.

Provides operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, cross docking and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for making corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in the hiring process and customer meetings as necessary. Reviews truck runs based on location of accounts, volume, costs, customer requirements and private fleet utilization. Review daily orders for additional private fleet opportunities based on above requirements.

As an integral member of the Pathways launch team, the Pathways Guide works closely with the Chief Ambassador and Program Quality Director, while partnering with an Ambassador to prepare clubs for the arrival of Pathways in their district. They are the first point of contact to help with onboarding and Pathways training.

The Pathways Guide will:

Conducts 9 club visits to raise awareness and build excitement
Educates over 150+ club members about the program
Support vice presidents of education by scheduling regular virtual support sessions and submitting their questions to World Headquarters staff

• Maintains positive relationships with student support service departments, in order to facilitate services to students receiving veterans' related educational entitlements

• Assists with maintaining regulatory, information security and confidentiality compliance in accordance with federal, state and MSJC guidelines

Assisted Marketing Coordinator in creating original content for the Outreach and Engagement online newsletter and engage website (USI.edu/engage). Created evergreen pieces, news releases, feature stories, event wrap-ups, etc. Partnered with Marketing Coordinator to produce video content.
