I joined Alamy as a start up when it had only 35 employees in the UK, I helped it grow to a global size of 190, with offices in India, New York, and Brisbane.  The HR team also grew in the last year  to a team of 2.  
During this time I supported all aspects of the employment lifecycle, to achieve this I had to adapt and learn along the way.  Some of the projects I worked on were:
* To recruit a new role, Australia Country Manager, this involved: defining the requirements of the role with key stakeholders, sourcing and briefing an Australian agency, negotiating terms within budget, screening and interviewing to present final candidates to the CEO. 
* GDPR - representing HR on the Company project team to ensure compliance of the HR function, identifying priorities, communicating and implementing change, updating and writing new policies e.g. Employee & Candidate Privacy Policy
* Mental Health Awareness: sourcing and providing by a third party trainer (Restore) to all line managers and staff, with the aim to raise awareness and increase early intervention of mental health issues.
* Redesigning the employee bonus scheme: creating a structure that recognises and rewards good                 performance.
* Opening the US and Australia offices: recruiting, understanding local laws, benefits, and policies.  Sourcing and inducting staff and liaising with local managers about HR issues and initiatives.
* Implementing a ‘self service’ HR system in the UK.
* Sourcing and implementing a professional employer organisation (PEO) in the US: to manage and provide competitive healthcare and other benefits to staff.
* Restructuring of the US Customer Service team.
* Redundancy programme.    

In addition to these projects I also managed the day to day operational aspects of HR, which included supporting and advising line managers with recruitment, performance management, absence and ill health issues, whilst developing them to become better people managers.

Virgin Atlantic Airways

Providing advice to Line Managers about employment law and relations.  This meant coaching and supporting managers with people management issues so that they made fair decisions in line with employment law, company policy, and best practice.  Examples of this would be managing employee performance, attending grievance and disciplinary hearings and facilitating people management training courses.

Human Resources Advisor

I started my career in Human Resources in 2000 as a Co-ordinator, in this role I provided administration support to the HR Advisor and Manager.  This involved writing contracts, taking minutes at meetings (disciplinary or monthly management meetings with the trade union representatives), managing maternity/paternity process and giving advice to managers and employees on policies and procedures.  I was promoted to Advisor in 2002.
