DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond contracts me to Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC), to teach high school juniors and seniors from various districts the basics of video game programming and the associated mathematics, along with art and music, game engines, and related topics.  This includes the DigiPen GAM100 course.  Advanced students have taken the AP CS Principles exam or the Unity Certified User: Programmer test.  Topics covered include:  C/C++/C#, JavaScript, MS MakeCode, Unity, Visual Studio, VR, mobile, animation, etc.  PSSC students develop an extensive professional portfolio in class.

Department of Astronomy post-doc with the Automated Plate Scanner group.  Developed first large-scale web-based astronomical catalog.  Taught Astronomy 101 for a year.  Then was at the Minnesota Center for Industrial Mathematics, in the School of Mathematics, managing a computer lab for faculty and graduate students.

As an instructor at Puget Sound Skills Center, I have taught high school students the fundamentals of video game programming and the associated mathematics, art, and music for 14 years. 

I have a PhD in Physics from the University of Arizona and a certification as a Microsoft Certified Educator, plus a Washington State CTE certificate. I also have a background in data analysis and visualization, as well as web-based scientific database development. I am passionate about science, software development, and education, and I enjoy sharing my expertise and experience with the next generation of STEM leaders.
