My responsibilities have ranged from new facilities, renovations , green field/brown field, inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) plus historic preservation full telecommunications (structured cabling), electrical, lighting, fire alarm, security/access control design oversight and specifications. Master planning. Project bidding along with vendor/contractor management. Areas of design responsibilities have included traditional structured cabling design for data/voice/CATV/AV (copper/fiber/coax) to fully converged facility low voltage cabling (Smart Building). Complete telecommunications space planning/design (EF/IDF/MDF/Data Center), grounding/bonding, security/access control, nurse call, paging, wireless access points and UPS/emergency power. - Design/plan/coordinate single/three phase power and lighting for entire facility. - Design/plan/coordinate in-row and back-of-rack cooling for data centers. server rooms, and telecommunications spaces. Projects experience includes healthcare, data centers, higher education, laboratory, pharmaceutical, industrial, clean room, BSL 3 and 4, military, local/state/federal government, warehouse, K-12 education, distance learning classrooms and video conferencing. From new construction to historical renovations have been part of my experience. Federal and military design projects throughout the United States included work with the Corps of Engineers and Veterans’ Administration. Military projects included both base realignment and new reserve bases doing full electrical and telecommunications design. Specialties included NIPRN/SIPRN/TS network design and Tempest shielding for telecommunications rooms and closets. My goal is to provide my clients with the best design possible that meets their needs on day one and provides as much flexibility as possible for the future. Once a project is complete I want the owner to remember my name and that I did what I could to make their project as successful as possible. I want the client to think about me for the next project.
