I’ve been a contractor, business owner, sales manager, sales rep, and have had a boatload of opportunities to stretch out and take on work that falls outside of those roles throughout my career. I’ve reached a place in my working life where more than anything I just want to do work that I find fun. What’s fun work for me? I have a lot of fun dreaming up ways to acquire new customers. That can entail anything from nailing down some crisp new sales copy and architecting killer sequences, to meticulously defining ideal buyer personas, to creating the playbooks that drive a winning GTM motion. Work is really a secondary priority for me. My wife and our son are my #1 priority, and most of my non-work time is spent with them. Aside from that, I’m constantly getting in over my head with home improvement projects, I’m always busting my ass trying to get into the same shape I was when I was 19 (I’m nowhere close :-), and I spend every Sunday in autumn holed up in my office watching the Raiders and scaring our dog with my yelling.
