I worked on a project to provide processor control software for a satellite. Tech stack comprised Java 8, Akka, Spring & Python.

I was part of SKYs EPG dev team. We  won the T3 Gadget Awards 2 years running for SKY beating Apple, Google, Virgin & more.  The EPG is written in Java,  is highly multi-threaded and asynchronous event driven. Agile methodologies and XP used non-religiously.

NDS Limited

I worked on the development of a new Set Top Box middleware platform (FUSION) for SKY. Spent 8 months working on the management of Service Information and 4 months re-developing a component test harness. Coding in C to MISRA standards. Agile methods employed.

This highly customer facing role involved working on site supporting Virgin Media by diagnosing and fixing faults in deployed middleware product across a range of set top box hardware. I worked closely with both engineers and management of various STB vendors e.g Pace, Samsung, Scientific Atlanta.
