The New Programs Engineering team works at the front end of the design and development cycle by studying, simulating, building, and (in)validating Tesla’s future vehicle concepts. 

Within the New Programs Engineering group, the Prototype Engineering Management role required my frequent interaction with cross-functional partners from integration to low voltage and firmware to produce bucks, mules, alphas, demonstrators and other prototypes that were used to inform downstream engineering efforts; enabling effective + efficient program launch timeframes. 

This was a multi-disciplinary leadership position (mechanical, electrical, firmware and harness engineering) where product design expertise and fundamental first principles approach to problem solving were paramount.

Serving in this capacity, I had the privilege to:
* Lead a high-performing team through the scoping, scheduling and execution of over a dozen bucks, mules and alpha prototypes across all major products: Models S3XY and Cybertruck.  
* Grow the team from 3x seasoned prototype engineers (EE, ME and FW) to 11x team members, adding dedicated harness engineering roles to amplify our team's capability and capacity.
* Groom, support and promote the highest performing teammates into more senior technical roles or into people leadership positions.
* Design many prototype automotive components and tooling that helped enable dozens of prototype vehicles.  Most notably Model S/X Long Range + Plaid LV packaging components, Cybertruck alpha assembly fixtures and many other automotive related prototypes.

ME220: Precision Manufacturing
This course is an introduction to precision engineering for manufacturing. Emphasis on design and performance of precision machinery for manufacturing. Topics include machine tool elements and structure, sources of error (thermal, static, dynamic, process related), precision machining processes and process models (diamond turning and abrasive processes, both fixed and free), sensors for process monitoring and control, metrology, actuators, machine design case studies and examples of precision component manufacture, role of CAD/CAM in precision manufacturing, aspects of sustainable manufacturing and design for sustainability and precision digital fabrication.

ME290I: Sustainable Manufacturing
This is a project-based, graduate-level survey course on the sustainability of a variety of manufacturing related topics.  The course provides the basis for understanding (1) what is envisioned as sustainable manufacturing and how that relates to larger issues such as global warming, energy independence and human rights.  (2) What comprises sustainable manufacturing practices in for-profit enterprises for mature and emerging economies. (3) How to measure and track improvement towards sustainable manufacturing in all three domains of sustainability: social, environmental and economic. (4) Techniques and tools for product and manufacturing process design & development and (5) effective communication of sustainability performance to internal and external audiences.
