Subsequently I developed the transcoding service, added chat messaging, integrated Stripe & Apple payment services and migrated the social media platform to a CQRS event driven architecture designed by me and one of the co-founders. 
I advised the senior management team & led the backend team while that co-founder was on paternity leave.

I guided the development of several microservices deployed in AWS written in Java. I helped design and implement a number of the patterns used in the services around CQRS using AWS SNS/SQS and was particularly involved in developing the patterns around testing the services.
I provided the key architectural vision and oversight for one of the microservices around billing.
I also provided a review of the architecture, processes and culture around the team and the services being developed.

I was responsible for maintaining and rearchitecting two data ingestion platforms for USwitch. During my time at USwitch I rearchitected the platforms to reduce complexity, simplify maintenance and changes and clarified context boundaries. In addition to adding new features/data, I added many new diagnostic tools for the commercial team & wrote 3 new microservices, decommissioned 5 services and rearchitected 6 services. The majority of these were written in Clojure/ClojureScript.
