At the heart of it, I’m a facilitator. I'm an educator. I'm a designer. I care about creating the conditions for learning communities to thrive. [bon]fire is the latest trail I'm carving, step-by-step, in my longer professional journey. My current perspective has been shaped by a diverse set of professional experiences in the US and around the world: summer camp counselor, H.S. classroom teacher and school leader, athletic coach and school advisor, trip leader and experiential education guide, school planner and designer working with architects, business strategist and entrepreneur, and ‘future of learning’ speaker and event curator. ‘How’ people make sense of experiences and challenges – and each other – inspires me. Always loved the beginning of a project more so than the end. More specifically, I much prefer the ‘messy process’ of learning and design over even the most amazing final products. So, as an educator and designer, I am an unapologetic advocate for whatever it takes to create the conditions for all learners to genuinely engage the world around them.
