I feel good when I'm in good shape and it leads to all sorts of positive side benefits - higher energy,  positivity, confidence, good health, etc. etc. 

This is how I stumbled into the world of longevity. 

For me, it's quite simple: I love doing sports and being in nature. I wanna be able to go snowboarding, wakeboarding, play tennis etc. with my kids when they're grown up, and their kids after that!

It all starts with strong, positive habits. 

In addition to having healthy relationships around me and a strong sense of purpose, the number one thing to do is to exercise more and better.

And the science of the past decade is pretty unanimous in saying we need to do do more heavy resistance training, to prevent sarcopenia and osteoporosis.

But how many of us truly enjoy going to the gym? I don't.

Thats why I'm building YDUN.

I want a studio where I can go and 2-3x per week, for just 30' at a time, where I can walk out knowing with certainty that I did the very best that I could for my body today.

What are The Secrets of Nutrition for Energy, Strength, and Longevity?

That's the key question I posed to our expert nutritional panel from SoLongevity.

The answers are quite straight forward in theory, but most of us struggle to implement them on a regular basis.

My key takeaways were:

1️⃣ Effective nutrition relies on recognising how much energy the body actually needs and respecting the intervals that support a balanced metabolism. Severely restricting energy intake is not a long term strategy: over time, it increases stress, impairs recovery, and negatively affects sleep and performance.

2️⃣ Each meal should include proteins, fats, and carbohydrates in proportions suited to the time of day, physical activity, and personal goals. A consistent routine allows the body and mind to function more efficiently. Placing carbohydrates at times of high energy demand and prioritizing proteins and fats in the morning supports balance, focus, and sustained performance.

3️⃣ Age does not determine metabolic decline, muscle mass does. We start losing muscle mass already from 30y.o., unless we combat it with heavy resistance training. Keep your muscle mass up to keep your metabolism up and you can keep eating like a 20y.o.!

After 12 years as a SaaS operator, I now advise B2B SaaS startups on how to go from zero to initial scale faster. 

As an operator I was fortunate to be part of three success journeys as the first G2M person:
1) Podio - Acquired by Citrix in 2012
2) Contentful - IPO-bound 🦄
3) Solvemate - Acquired by Dixa 2022

Having been the first G2M person three times over the past 12 year, I've been able to collect a ton of valuable learnings - sometimes what really works, other times what can go horribly wrong.

I don't think there's a standard playbook for how to get to $5m ARR. Every product, market, team, etc. are different and need different things to reach initial scale. But there are of course patterns.

By  pulling on my experiences from the startups I've helped build and scale plus the ones I now support as an advisor, I'm able to challenge founders and early G2M leaders to think through critical and daily decisions. Through regular conversations I get the chance to truly understand the challenges they are facing and help them come up with solutions. 

To me it's about getting beyond the talk and truly understanding the companies I'm working with and to feel like a natural extension of the team. That way, there is mutual trust and I always have context, so we don't waste time "onboarding me" into any situation. By working on several levels in the company, I get to balance helping the founders with strategically important decisions, while helping the G2M team make operationally important progress on a weekly basis.
