I’ve been in the coaching space for over 25 years now. In the health, mindset, high performance, human behaviour and leadership space. 

People have always come in wanting something more, something different. 

The wanting is clear.
The thing that is often lacking is the willingness to do what is needed.

To get their health and vitality back.
Their marriage and family healed and  unified.
Their faith revived, teams aligned and businesses turned around and thriving.

This is the starting point…

Desire is a beautiful God given thing when it comes from the right well…

But I believe desire is simply a
compass inviting us into a new season of exploration…

What INSIDE me must shift? 
What INSIDE me must grow? 
What INSIDE me must go?
What is needed that I’ve been unwilling to address?  

When we address the HEART of the matter and work to get thr roots & soil right while cultivating the right environment for change, change begins to happen.

New fruit grows.

Let’s talk about Trust & Respect. Here’s How to Lose it Fast …

Keep Avoiding the Hard Conversations.

Keep tolerating disruptive & destructive behaviour:

Mediocrity: Keep team members around who consistently underperform because “it’s easier than replacing them.”

Gossip and negativity: Allow toxic side conversations that chip away at trust and team culture.

Poor Communication: Sugarcoat feedback to “protect feelings”(a recipe for confusion and resentment)

Lack of accountability: Let deadlines slip, commitments slide, and excuses stand and calling it “grace.”

Misalignment: Continue to employ or partner with those who no longer share your vision or values, hoping they’ll “come around.”

Sounds crazy, but how often do you find yourself or your teams doing this?

Most of the time, you already know what needs to be done.

It’s not a lack of clarity that keeps you stuck and frustrated.

It’s your avoidance and lack of trust in yourself.

Avoiding the hard conversations doesn’t protect the peace.

It perpetuates the problem, amplifies stress and creates greater barriers.

Every time we sidestep truth,
We reinforce the very thing that’s costing us our energy, respect, and influence.

I know this well by learning this the hard way. 

Early in my career I was afraid to hold people accountable:
The fear of losing key players and potentially the clients who would walk out the door with them was real. 

As a result I allowed them to lead me. I became their “puppet” rather than their leader. 

In the end, it costs me their trust, respect and I ended up losing the clients anyway.

Today, it’s a different ball game.

👉 What you tolerate, you normalize.

And what you normalize eventually erodes your standards,
your relationships, your credibility and self confidence as a leader.

In an effort to maintain peace,
You lose far more than you ever imagined.

Money. Time. Energy. Self-Respect. Trust. 

Respect and trust are EARNED by our willingness to have hard conversations and stand for something, not our ability to avoid them and stand for everything.

Those who are willing to face discomfort with honesty and compassion
create environments of safety, clarity, and growth.

It’s not easy. 

But leadership was never supposed to be comfortable.

It’s supposed to be transformational.

So here’s the question for today

What hard conversations have you been avoiding?

And what will it truly cost you if you keep delaying it?

Do the math.
Make the decision.
Take swift action.

Short term discomfort is a small price to pay for long term gain.

Lets talk about Fear of REJECTION for a minute.

This is undoubtedly the #1 struggle most leaders are facing internally when they reach out. 

Behind the "strong" facade they put on every day, they are secretly terrified of being rejected.

And that conscious or unconscious Fear has now become the fuel that motivates, initiates and fortifies their reality - even the one they wish  they could change. 
 
Here's how it plays out: 

- A cold shoulder from our spouse when we reach out.
- A team member who pushes back and challenged our leadership.
- A client who doesn’t respond to our call.
- A friend who goes quiet all of a sudden.

Suddenly the mind sprints from A → Z in a millisecond, flooding us with a thousand thoughts and a wave of emotions. 

Those micro moments trigger old operating systems, memories, beliefs, and agreements we don’t even realize we’ve made!

Suddenly you’re reacting from the wounds of ten years ago, rather than intentionally leading the conversation in the PRESENT.

Without even noticing it, you begin to:

• Shut down
• Pull back
• Overthink
• People-please
• Overperform
• Self-protect
• Push away the very connection you crave

Not because you’re weak, but because you’ve unconsciously partnered with a LIE and allowed an old program to run wild again.

Rejection is much more than a physical or mental issue. 

It has spiritual roots designed to distort identity, twist our perception of reality, and convince us we’re unworthy, unwanted, or always “too much” or “not enough.” 

The more we agree with it… 
the louder it gets.

The more we feed it, the bigger it grows.

So what do you DO about it?

1. You cannot heal what you refuse to acknowledge. Stop avoiding it.

2. You cannot slay a giant you’re unwilling to look at. Be willing to do the inner work.

3. You cannot build connection while bowing to fear. Take authority over the territory of your mind and body!

Awareness is the first step. 
The rest flows from this starting place.

In today’s episode (Part 1 of a 2-part deep dive) I am unpacking: 

-> What the spirit of rejection is (and why it’s a spirit that distorts identity)
-> How it shows up consciously and unconsciously

You do not have to keep partnering with the lie.

Information is free.
Transformation is expensive.

1. Information without application is useless.
You can have the best plan, the most brilliant strategy, and every tool you need to succeed, but if you don’t put them to use immediately, nothing will change.
Progress only happens when knowledge is applied consistency over time in the right way. Application, process and consistency matter.

2. Information without an IDENTITY shift is useless.
 The best information in the wrong hands will either create chaos, confusion and more stagnation. If someone doesn't believe they are capable of stewarding what they've been given, they will either sabotage it or stall out before they even begin.

3. Information may build up your pride, but transformation will kill it.
 True transformation requires humility. It demands you confront your blind spots, your attachments, and the parts of yourself that have been propped up by ego and control. Then it will ask you to lay those things down.,

4. Information may provide some certainty. Transformation will demand surrender. Transformation is not an intellectual exercise. It’s one of shifting the posture of your heart and the strength in your spirit. This. means being willing to step into the great unknown and show up with internal certainty that outweighs external conditions.
 
The real cost of transformation:

1. Sacrifice.
You will be asked to release what no longer serves the next season—> ideas, titles, positions, relationships, even ways of thinking. 
Comfort must be exchanged for growth.

2. Death of the old.
 Who you used to be, the beliefs you clung to, the habits that once kept you safe all must die to make room for who you are becoming. The next version of you requires new patterns, new language, new disciplines.

3. Surrender.
 You can’t control your way through transformation.
 It will stretch you, test you, and refine you.
 This is where faith is forged, trust is deepened, and obedience is developed.

That’s why the how-to for almost everything is freely available online now.
You can ask AI for a business plan, a workout routine, a marriage strategy.... whatever you want! In a matter of minutes, voila! You are off to the races! 
But are you really?

What you can’t download is BELIEF. What you can't download is WHO you must BECOME and EMBODY to execute the strategy. What you can't download for free is the faith, courage and strength to move when it's time to move.

The real value lies in becoming the kind of person who will pick up the tools, apply them, and walk through the fire of refinement without quitting.

That’s what great coaching does.

It’s not about dumping more information on you. It’s about forging transformation within you.

Because what you’re really investing in isn’t more knowledge. You can have all that for free. 

You are investing in the person, the team, the family you will BECOME.

So the question is this...
Are you looking for more information or are you seeking TRANSFORMATION?

Leadership is discipleship.
And leadership is reflection. 

It’s not about building a platform or becoming the greatest in the room.

It’s about multiplying greatness and passing on the wisdom, revelation, and experience we’ve been entrusted with to raise up others who will go farther than we did.

Jesus modeled this perfectly.

He didn’t say, “Go build empires.” 

He said, “Go make disciples.”

He also didn’t try to lead everyone. He intentionally developed a few who would develop others.

In fact, He had three in His innermost circle. 12 He invested in deeply, and those twelve became seventy… then hundreds… then nations.

He lead with structure, order and clear intention.

He called.
He equipped.
He empowered.
Then He enlarged by sending them out.

And He told them that they would be doing even GREATER things than He had shown them.

“Truly, truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I do; and even greater works than these.” 
John 14:12 (AMP)

That’s the essence of leadership.

We are not called  to create followers. 

We are called to develop leaders and warriors.
People who will STAND on solid foundations and multiply people.

Todays question is this:

*** What are the people under my leadership reflecting back at me? 

Am I developing leaders or followers in our home?

Am I empowering others to think, lead, and act with ownership?

Am I raising UP men and women who can handle and multiply what’s been entrusted to them? 

Or am I collecting people who look to me to be the source of their solutions and answers?

Entitled, ill equipped - a drain to everything you’ve built.

If not, perhaps it’s time to do something different.

Come on! 🔥 I LOVE hearing those types of client wins and feedback.

This is what happens when someone decides they’re DONE

Done firefighting and living in survival mode.

Capacity is BUILT in the places no one sees:

In the choices you make when things feel impossible.

In the frustrations that forge a deeper resilience.

In the spiritual muscles you strengthen when you finally stop relying on your own strength, drop the self reliance and start depending on the limitless God who equips and empowers those He calls. 

In the decision to elevate others instead of trying to be the hero of every situation. You begin co-creating and partnering (instead of transacting) with other aligned leaders around you.

When leaders decide to grow spiritually, emotionally, and strategically
When they invest in their inner life, not just their outward KPIs
When they pour into their people and multiply leadership instead of bottlenecking everything at the top…

Things begin to shift. Rooms feel different when they walk in.
Conversations elevate. Problems shrink as solutions flow.

The people around them RISE.
This is the FRUIT of alignment.
This is the evidence of internal expansion.
This is what happens when leaders stop operating from a place of "lack" and start operating from a position of overflow.

Let me be clear. Overflow was not the starting point here. 
In the beginning it was often messy, often a pressure cooker, often frustrating - but over time, as alignment became the priority, the pieces started to lock in.

If you’re in a season where you feel stretched, frustrated or fighting the same fires daily -> Know this...

Your next level of capacity is being built right now.
Your next level of leadership is being forged right now.
And the room you’re called to walk into next?
It requires the version of you who’s willing to do the unseen work and become the person who can sustain that next season.

You will step into rooms with a certainty that others feel. A presence that shifts atmospheres and astrength that doesn’t need to announce itself.

And you’ll know "I can take on anything… because I am not carrying it ALONE."

Unthreatened, unshaken, focused on leaving others better than they found them.

As I look at where we are today in our life, our marriage, our business…

Mark and I bow our heads in deep gratitude.

The home we live in.

Our six children who have come together so beautifully.

The clients who trust us.

The leaders we get to serve.

The projects we’re building.

The doors God opened that we never could’ve forced open ourselves.

All of it was once a distant, intangible dream.

Two days ago, I stumbled upon an old vision board from 2019 in the attic.

On it were my 3-year and 5-year visions, goals, values, desires, and the things I said I was leaving behind.

Looking at it today… every single thing on that board,
and so much more,
has been realized.

It feels “normal” now, already done.
But back then? It felt like a stretch. A whisper. A hope.

And now?
We’re getting ready to do it all over again in our 2025 Family Visioneering session…

New dreams.
New normals.
New territory we’re being called  into together.

Here’s the reminder I want to leave with you:

The life you’re experiencing today is the result of the clarity, belief, posture, and faithful actions you practiced yesterday.

So if you’re in a season where you feel alone, overwhelmed or behind… 

Slow down.

If something feels missing, 
I invite you to practice gratitude.

If you feel unseen or threatened,
I invite you to go love on someone.

If there’s an area of need,
I challenge you to plant a seed in that very area.

And watch how the atmosphere begins to shift…
first in you, then around you.

It always starts with the heart ♥️

Happy Thanksgiving Week my friends!

Life Lessons From This Morning’s Ride

It’s been a minute since I’ve been out on the mountain bike, and I honestly forgot just how therapeutic it is to be alone on the trails. 

There’s something about being in nature, flowing through roots and rocks, that forces you to be fully present. 

You can’t overthink. 

You can’t multitask. 

You just get to BE there.

The trails had some gentle reminders today.

1. Keep your eyes forward.

Where my eyes go, my bike goes. 

If I look at the obstacle, rock or the log in front of me… I’ll hit it every single time.

If I look down on my climb up the hill, I instantly get weaker and lose traction. 

But when I look ahead, ESPECIALLY where the path is steepest, I line up with the trail. 

Same thing in life: look where you want to go, not at what you are worried about.

2. Lighten your grip of control! 

When climbing or navigating obstacles, the worst thing I can do is grip the handlebars like I’m  fighting for my life. 

When shoulders tense, balance goes out the door, and everything gets harder. 

The moment I relax my shoulders, loosen your grip, and let the trail and bike take me… 
I find traction again…

There’s a whole sermon in that one. 

Stop white-knuckling your life. Breathe. 
Lean in. 
Let the ground meet you.

3. God always goes before me.
Last night it rained. 

Today should’ve been mushy, sludgy, slippery, and maybe even a recipe for me tweaking out a knee right before ski season. 

I almost didn’t go. 

But in prayer this morning, God reminded me: “I go before you”

When I got to the trail 
there were dozens of people out there clearing leaves, repairing ruts, prepping the path!

Who knew it was trail clean up day! 

By the time I rode through, everything was dry, smooth, and freshly cleared—literally prepared right before I arrived.
As if it was done just for me. 

Enter God wink.

Reminder: Don’t judge the journey by the conditions you think are waiting for you. 

You have no idea who God is sending ahead of you or what He’s clearing behind the scenes.

So if you’re in a season where the “conditions” don’t look ideal…

Where fear wants to talk you out of stepping forward…

Where obstacles look bigger than momentum…

Look up. 

Look forward.

Fix your eyes on the direction you’re called to, not the things you’re trying to avoid.

Lighten your grip.

Lean in.

And trust that the path beneath you is already being prepared.

“Why do you talk about marriage & relationships so much if you’re a leadership company?”

It’s a question I got asked recently.  

And it’s a fair one.

Here’s my answer;
Because you can’t separate who you are at home from who you are at work.

Great leadership doesn’t start at work. 

It starts at home.

If there’s division, resentment, or disconnection in your most intimate relationships,  you’re not leading from a solid foundation.  

You’re leading from a scattered mind and heart.

70% waste.

That’s the common number I hear when prospective clients reach out and I ask them:

“How much of your mental and emotional bandwidth is getting sucked up by what you are dealing with at home?”

What would you do 70% more bandwidth?

When you know you are supported, aligned and on a shared mission at home it amplifies who you are and adds 🚀 rocket fuel to your days.

The truth is, the same patterns that show up in our marriage…

• Avoidance, 
• Control issues (micromanaging)
• Lack of trust & respect
• People pleasing
• Friction from opposing views and desires
• Communication breakdowns 

Are the same patterns that show up when we lead people, teams, and our organizations.

You can’t preach alignment, communication, and accountability at work while chaos and confusion are the standard in your home.

I believe most of our problems are relationship problems.

At Momentum, we teach that leadership is relational at every level.

The health of your relationships determines the health of your leadership.

We’re not just developing high-performing teams.

We’re developing whole leaders. 

Men and women who operate from peace under pressure.
Who know that presence is power and performance is a byproduct of clarity and capacity.

Because when you get it right on the inside…

You lead, think and build differently.

You become the kind of leader people want to follow and fight alongside with.

So yes, I talk about marriage - on repeat.

I talk about developing greater clarity.

I talk about establishing  lines of clear communication.

I talk about whats required to gain trust and keep it. 

and most of all I talk about the power of becoming ONE unified force. 

Because those are the foundations of every thriving organization.

Marriage and leadership are not two separate conversations.

They’re the same one.

Both require vision, trust, humility, alignment, and the ability to serve consistently - for the benefit of the greater whole.

Why most traditional leadership training is outdated and failing inside organizations -> and what to focus on instead.

Too many organizations and leaders we have spoken with have spent massive amounts of money on information delivery. Overwhelming their people with more tools, slide decks, and “trainings” at their people, hoping behavior will change.

The reality is behavior modification doesn’t work that way. 
People are checked out, they are tired, and many are questioning their value.
Giving people more 'stuff' when they are already over-extended and lack the capacity to implement these tools or systems is not going to move the needle sustainably. 

Now we are big believers in having GREAT systems, don't get us wrong.
However, there is something to address before systems.

Here's the SHIFT.

Chasing results without addressing what generates results is foolish. 
Building a house without making sure the foundation is solid is also foolish.

All behavior modification begins with identity, belief and clarity. 
Who are we, what do we truly believe and what does success look like? 

This is where you get Alignment and BUY IN from your people.

Do they know where you are headed? 
Are they clear and aligned to that direction?  If not, why?
Are they clear on their role and what success/growth looks like for them? 

If people don’t believe in what you are doing and if they don’t see themselves as problem-solvers, leaders, or owners, no amount of new processes or dangling incentives will stick.

That’s why you can send someone to a 3-day workshop and they’ll come back inspired for a week… then default right back to the same patterns. Same old operating system.

Information alone doesn’t rewire identity or beliefs. 

When we work with organizations, our focus isn’t just training new skills — it’s upgrading the identity of the team. Helping them see themselves as trusted stewards, creators, leaders of culture. We get them BOUGHT IN again.

When identity shifts, beliefs shift.

There was a season when I was so locked in, so constantly “on,” that even when Christine and I finally flew down to Costa Rica for a long-overdue vacation, my mind didn’t come with me. My body was on a beach… but my head was still back in the grind.

I didn’t realize how fried I was until I got there. I spent the first week doing nothing but drinking at the all-inclusive, trying to sedate the noise in my head. 

Trying to drown out the spinning plates, the undone tasks, the constant feeling that something somewhere was about to fall apart. It was the only way my nervous system knew how to dial down. I wasn’t relaxing — I was numbing. And honestly, that scared me a little.

Thank God we had a second week built into that trip. We left the resort and actually toured the country. And that’s when it hit me: for the first time in what felt like years, I felt present. I wasn’t checking my phone. I wasn’t replaying conversations. I wasn’t bracing for another fire. I was just… there. With my wife. In a beautiful country. Breathing like a normal human again.

But that trip also exposed something deeper.

How often do we spend thousands of dollars to go somewhere beautiful… and then waste half the time just detoxing from the life we’re trying to escape?
I used to think that was normal. It’s not. It’s a sign your system is broken.

So I’ll ask you what I had to ask myself:

Tell me about a time you tried to take a vacation but couldn’t unplug. What happened?

How many times did your phone buzz? What were people pulling you back into?
What broke while you were gone? What kind of mess did you walk back into?
And how did that feel — not just emotionally, but spiritually?

What did it reveal about the way you’re leading, the way you’ve built your team, the way your system is set up?

Because if your world collapses when you rest… you’re not actually leading.

You’re just holding everything together with your own two hands.

And that’s not sustainable.

That’s not freedom.

That’s not the life God calls you to.

When strategies, tactics and tools are not enough.
I've been in the high performance space for nearly 25 years as an athlete,  coach and business owner.

Training myself and others on mindset, flow state, optimization protocols and systems for greater speed to result with less wasted effort.

For the first decade I was teaching others to drop weight, get stronger, leaner, faster, push harder through my High Performance Studio (PUSH!)

We got incredible results there. The frameworks were solid, the outcomes measurable, and the results impressive.

Yet over the years, the underlying patterns became obvious. 
As I began to work with more executive leaders, most were coming into our facility with chronic pain, fatigue, recurring injuries. An inability to rest, drop weight, or sustain the results they were working so hard for.

These recurring physical issues were not because they needed a better 'fitness program'. They were because they were carrying unaddressed emotional, mental, and relational weight.

I knew there was a limit to how far I could take someone with the traditional high performance tools.

While I knew that addressing their heart and spirit was the key to unlock the next level, I avoided the conversation for too long. I didn’t want to alienate anyone or push my beliefs on others.

But behind closed doors, my clients were starving for spiritual and relational growth. They craved deeper connection, meaning and purpose. Their souls were parched and spirits seeking. They wanted to FEEL ALIVE again, on fire and fueled with fresh vision.

Then I sensed it clearly:
 “Are you done doing this halfway? You can’t keep separating who I’ve called you to be from the work I’ve called you to do.” 

People were getting results, but they weren’t getting restored.
They were experiencing performance, but not peace.
Success, but not sustainability.

So I said YES.

Yes to putting Godly principles at the center of everything I teach.
Yes to inviting faith, healing, and wholeness in mind/body/spirit back into the room. Yes to leading with the truth that real transformation doesn’t come from human strength. It comes from Divine alignment.

That’s when the breakthroughs started. In my clients, in my coaching abilities and in the results we were witnessing.

Clients began experiencing freedom in areas they’d been stuck for decades. Rest for the first time in years. Marriages and families restored. Freedom. 

The world’s systems might teach us how to perform but only Heaven’s blueprint leads to freedom and prosperity.

You can master all the strategies, systems, and protocols, but if you're not building on an eternal foundation, it will always leave you empty.

What IF there's another way? 

What IF the very thing you are seeking is seeking you?

We don’t need more high maintenance audiences to entertain (babysit)… 

What we need is highly motivated “armies” of mission driven leaders who can see the greater scope of the landscape.

A house divided will not stand.

An organization divided will not accomplish its mission and expand in its territory. 

A man or woman who is internally torn - mentally scattered and emotionally empty - will never lead powerfully. 

One of the most effective things we can do for ourselves, our marriages,  our businesses is to open our eyes to the Lay of the Land and upgrade our battle strategies.

Too many of us are still getting baited by superficial distractions when we are CALLED to LEAD from higher ground. 

SHIFTING our perspective and getting a clear view of WHAT we are dealing with is what changes the game. 

This is why I talk about Unification so much.
Unification leads to multiplication. 
Division leads to breakdown every single time. 

One common vision. 
One common language, 
One shared direction. 
One cohesive team,
Clear on WHO  they are 
Positioned in the right seats Moving in the right direction.
