Always looking to learn from people who know more than I do. 🔬 I dove into life science in 2019 by accident - it blew my mind. It was a completely new world to me that was pushing boundaries in ways that I didn’t know existed, let alone were possible. 💡 The area of 3D cell culture particularly caught my attention - novel in-vitro cell-model systems that are used to predict the efficacy and toxicity of drugs very early in the drug development timeline. How they could transform the pharmaceutical industry by vastly expanding our understanding of complex diseases, helping tailor new drugs for specific patient subgroups, and decreasing the industry’s dependence on animal testing. ✅ Win-win-win. My team and I recognized that if the industry was going to fully adopt these new models they also needed new tools to work with them - to culture, mature, handle, and analyze them. Today, I work to enable the use of 3D cell models in high-throughput, preclinical drug development through Lucero’s novel 3D cell culture handling platform. I’m also a huge advocate for open innovation and collaboration within the pharmaceutical industry. I actively work to help build Gothenburg’s startup ecosystem. My goal is that, in 10 years, Gothenburg becomes the life-science hub of Europe. Outside of my work with Lucero, I love to surf, box, and fly fish.
