AI isn’t ALWAYS “saving time”. In many teams, it’s quietly EXPANDING the job.

I saw technology.io showed evidence that AI often doesn’t eliminate work; it intensifies it. People work faster, take on more and spend extra time reviewing, coordinating and correcting AI.

Here’s what leaders are missing.

If you introduce AI and only measure speed, you will “prove” it worked.
But you might also be creating:

1. Scope creep (more tasks attempted because they are now “easy”)

2. Quality-check overhead (humans correcting partial or confident-but-wrong output)

3. Coordination load (more handoffs, more decisions, more review loops)

4. Blurred boundaries (work expands into the gaps AI creates)

So the question isn’t “did AI reduce hours?” It’s “did we redesign the workflow, roles and accountability so the hours actually reduce?”

If you want AI to REALLY give time back, you need rules:

- What work stops now?
- What quality standard is acceptable?
- Who owns review and sign-off?
- What gets rejected, not fixed?

Otherwise AI becomes a workload multiplier, not a workload reducer.
