Accomplishments: 

Co-led the public launch of a new $124M wind tunnel.
•  Coordinated PR/media, government relations, and internal communications teams. 
•  Helped define goals for the public launch, along with local/national media strategy. 
•  Drafted press release, Q&A document, and speaker talking points. 
•  This launch resulted in strong positive reaction from media with a lot of coverage. Set Honda as a thought leader in the wind tunnel arena. 

Developed content and for internal and external audiences.
• Internal videos played onsite and on the company intranet to educate associates about a variety of projects, including vehicle models, benefits of company reorganization, and more. 
• Wrote a variety of articles to help associates learn more about latest models and fellow associates. 
• Co-wrote, produced and directed live New Year’s virtual message from leadership. 
• External content was mostly focused on the wind tunnel launch. (Press release, Q&A document, speaker talking points)

Ohio Development Communications Lead

The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business

At Fisher College of Business, we believe business leadership requires a distinct and nuanced set of skills for a business world that’s changing at a pace never before seen. My role included project management, writing and publishing stories, copy editing, managing social media accounts, and more.

Accomplishments: 

Created marketing strategies and content for the college's Fisher Leadership Initiative (FLI). 
•  Used research to develop strategies that led to successful outcomes.
•  This includes high levels of enrollment for the program's Dean's Leadership Academy.

Managed social media accounts and creation of new website aimed at promoting Fisher’s commitment to leadership development.
• Engaged with highly followed leadership experts and invited them to write for the website. They then posted those articles on their own channels, which resulted in a steady increase of unique website views and Twitter followers. 

Served as the lead for the Fisher College of Business’ internal Pelotonia campaign. 
 • My efforts contributed to an approximate 45% increase over the previous year’s total.   
 • Created and distributed printed materials in staff communal areas across Fisher’s campus to raise awareness about fundraising opportunities. 
•  Wrote internal stories that were digitally shared with faculty and staff. 

Assisted in the creation of fundraising collateral used for the FLI.
 • Created copy for “one-sheeters” that development officers would leave behind for potential donors.

Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow

Since beginning in 2000, ECOT has provided a tuition-free, fully accredited online public school education to students throughout Ohio.

Accomplishments: 

Launched, and served as the writer and editor for “ECOT Magazine,” a quarterly publication aimed at increasing brand awareness and student retention. 
 • Solved the issue of no engaging existing physical communication method for families and employees. 

Founded ECOT’s internship program to groom future professionals in the fields of communications, journalism, public relations, and marketing.
• This solved issue of team being understaffed.

Developed “ECOTNews.com,” a centralized, web-based repository designed to deliver content from a singular publishing point.  
• The idea for this was born out my having constant strong written output and ideas. 

Managed ECOT’s “Parent Portal.” This web-based tool gives legal guardians access to student grades, class schedules, last classroom visit dates, school announcements, and assignment completion status.

ThisWeek News is part of a regional media organization with a rich heritage and tradition of serving communities across the area, including affiliates The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Alive, Columbus Parent and many other niche products.

Accomplishments:

Covered newsworthy issues in the Central Ohio and surrounding areas.  

Developed positive and trustworthy relationships with key community sources, including administrators, police chiefs, and council members. 

Awarded Third Place, Best Local Feature by Suburban Newspapers of America, 2008. 

Shared First Place, awarded by Ohio Newspaper Association, for a package of local feature stories, 2008. 

As a result of building positive relationships with various government sources, an article was used as research for a village project during a Gahanna council meeting.
