Retired in June 2023 as member of the EY Americas Assurance Leadership Team. Over the last 5-years of my tenure with the firm, I was also asked to focus on Cybersecurity matters affecting EY audit clients. Upon my retirement, I have formally affiliated as a Strategic Advisor to The Goodwin Group, a Board and C-suite executive search firm. and with Focus 3, a leadership consulting firm. During my 25-year EY tenure, I served in a variety of leadership roles, including as Coordinating Partner for a Fortune 300 global manufacturer. Along the way, I created Fortune 1000 Audit Committee Networks and also developed and personally moderated similar professional networks of Fortune 100 CFOs, General Counsels, Controllers, Treasurers, and Corporate Secretaries. Further, I created the EY CFO Development Program and supporting curriculum. I also routinely served as a panelist and/or moderator for national organizations such as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), Council for Institutional Investors (CII), AICPA Chapters, and others. I also led the creation and moderated a 3-part Cybersecurity Webcast Series for >18,000 participants with experts from the legal, regulatory, cyber investigation, investor, and Corporate Directorship arenas. I am active in the community through various civic boards, and also involved in the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc., having been featured in a short-story publication entitled “Profiles of Courage - Living with Type I Diabetes”. I am also a former Elder of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church and served as a professional mentor to scholar athletes from the University of Georgia. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, I have post-graduate training at a variety of universities, including completion of General Electric’s Financial Management Program. I also completed the AICPA’s Cybersecurity Advisory and Attestation Services Programs and have been certified as a "Qualified Technology Expert" by the Digital Directors Network. I co-authored and edited cybersecurity research published in The Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation (2018-2022) and have also been quoted on cybersecurity matters in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Law, Institutional Allocator, and other publications. On a personal note, I am passionate about my faith; my beloved UNC Tar Heels; building and sustaining trusted personal and professional relationships; and my 3 young adult children.
