I am a Partner in the Competition Law practice and Head of the Telecoms, Media, and Technology (TMT) practice at Streamsowers & Köhn. Additionally, I serve as a Senior Digital Policy Fellow at Research in Digital Economy (RiDE) and am a former Tech Policy Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation. My practice and research interests lie at the intersection of the legal and public policy issues of the digital economy, technology and competition law compliance. At Streamsowers & Köhn, I have advised a diverse range of clients on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic legal solutions to overcome complex regulatory challenges. My clientele includes an international social media network, a video-on-demand service, a mobile network operator, a global broadcast media conglomerate, an internet exchange point, a cloud provider, an online marketplace, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer and a submarine cable operator. As a subject matter expert in competition law, I have counselled clients on all facets of competition law compliance, supported clients during competition law investigations and successfully secured regulatory clearance from the competition authority for multiple transactions, maintaining a 100% success rate. Since 2013, I have been a contributing author to Lexology-GTDT, providing insights for the Nigerian chapter on Telecoms and Media. In 2023, I also became a contributor to the Nigerian chapter of Chambers and Partners’ Mergers & Acquisitions guide. I am also the author of Regulating Anti-competitive Practices in Nigeria’s Communications Sector (Wolf Legal Publishers, Netherlands, 2017). Beyond legal practice, I am actively engaged in technology policy research and have collaborated with leading local and international civil society organisations and non-profits, including the New Venture Fund, the Open Society Initiative for West Africa, the African Academic Network on Internet Policy, the Mozilla Foundation, the World Wide Web Foundation, and the Alliance for Affordable Internet. Through these engagements, I have led and contributed to significant research initiatives aimed at shaping policy frameworks for the digital economy. I am a Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E) and British Computer Society (BCS) Certified Practitioner of Data Protection.
