Being a curious person by nature, I love spending time with my clients getting to know their products and services and the type of clients they deal with. I work closely with all my clients as it is important to me that I know what their interests are so that I am able to help them protect their assets and maximise their net worth.

Towards the end of 2020, I made the decision to branch out to bookkeeping training after reading an article how a mum was being laid off whilst on her maternity leave! I want to reach out to mums who want to set up working from home as bookkeepers and to business owners who wants to understand their numbers so they can make business decisions independently and confidently.

BMS Finance Group Plc is a family run business providing short term bridging and property finance at competitive rates. 

Providing business support and advice, I manage the day to day running of accounting process in Quickbooks, identifying, reviewing, implementing and improving financial management and accounting processes.

Worked closely with the directors on cash flow management, helping the directors with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis. I am the point of contact for internal/external audit queries, managing supplier relationships and payments management.

Financial Controller

BBC VISION consolidates the responsibility for multiplatform commissioning and ensures that the window of creative competition works in the best interests of BBC audience. Commissioning and Services sits within BBC VISION and ensures the development of the BBC’s linear channels and multimedia brands. 

Working closely with colleagues, I provided financial management support, analysing and challenging existing operations and business development activities highlighting areas of under-performance.

Finance Analyst

SMS Management & Technology

SMS Management & Technology Limited is an ASX listed company providing management and technology services across a broad range of industries (financial services, mining, defence etc) based in Melbourne, Australia. 

I managed a team responsible for various aspects of financial accounting (cash flow reporting and management of Annual Accounts and Audit of foreign entities (offices in Malaysia, Singapore and London) as well as implementing process improvements to comply with pre-determine budgets.

Financial Accounting Manager

ITV is UK’s largest commercial broadcaster and has been for the past 50 years. Programme Finance in Broadcast manages a growing family of channels. 
This is a temporary role of a year reporting into the Finance Director and Financial Controller. I deputized for the Financial Controller and was responsible for various aspects of financial management and reporting across the Programme Finance department, so as to enable the Financial Controller to allocate more time to the Future Finance project happening at ITV. Although I was asked to stay on until Sept 08, the offer was declined as my husband and I decided to go travelling to Melbourne, Australia and explore the possibility of emigrating there.

I was responsible for the monthly analysis and reporting on transmission costs, programme stock management, dealing with minority licences in respect of their share of ITV1 network programme costs and developed and implemented a process to track and manage New Media, Film and other rights in the department.

Program Finance Accountant

Future Media and Technology is at the heart of the BBC’s transformation plans, leading the development of BBC’s overall future media portfolio, ensuring the BBC remains relevant in the digital age. 

Provided financial business support, managing business expectations to transformation plans, analysing and reporting on the cash position of the division (£190m cash budget), against budget and forecast which involves a high level of understanding of capricious working capital movements, using SAP and Hyperion.

Finance Manager

This vibrant £120m department produces over 1000 hours of children’s television yearly and comprises of two brands i.e. Cbeebies and CBBC with slots on BBC One, Two, interactive TV and on-demand services. 
Working closely with the Head of Finance, I provided support to monitor, analyse, plan and forecast various financial elements including cash (£90m cash budget), Value for Money initiatives, implementation of team to process repeats fees and financial strategy for the department, consolidating balance sheet and spending plan.

Lead Management Accountant

BBC Entertainment is a dynamic department with an annual income of £110m and is responsible for providing successful shows like Weakest Link, Strictly Come Dancing, Little Britain etc. Supporting the Head of Finance, my role involved working closely with colleagues in the department analysing, planning, monitoring and forecasting financial and non financial information.

Financial Analyst

Started at BBC Childrens on a 6 month attachment as project accountant and was subsequently offered to stay on as management accountant. As project accountant, I was tasked with coming up with solutions on the management of the repeat fees and financial strategy to further improve the ways of working in the department.

In addition to implementing tighter forecasting framework at project level, I also provided financial and management support to productions, analysing, monitoring and reporting results against plans set, ensuring production staff were making the best use of SAP, and spending within their allocated budget. Providing a supporting role in developing and implementing effective internal control procedures in BBC Childrens, I wrote an induction booklet for new staff to BBC Childrens.

Project Accountant/Management Accountant

DEC (Drama, Entertainment and Children) HQ is a division with a £500m turnover. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working in a team of 7, I work closely with colleagues in the division collecting, analysing and reporting on consolidated financial and non- financial information from SAP, Hyperion and the business. 

I was also the focal point of contact for finance staff in other divisions to minimise internal trade differences, using reports on SAP to reduce mismatches in BBC as a whole.

Leading teams in auditing and ensuring risk management and auditing processes are carried out properly for clients companies from various industries i.e. dentists, solicitors, retail and food business etc. Provided business support to clients including installing and training clients on SAGE.

Graff and Graff is a small accounting practice based in Finchley, North London. I was part of a small team and I assisted in audits. I worked with small businesses from various industries, producing financial and management accounts and preparation of VAT returns.

Crescent Institute is a private accounting college offering LCCI (London Chambers of Commerce and Industry) courses. I was part of a team lecturing Financial Accounting and Costing to students sitting for the LCCI exams.
