19 years+ in corporate as a financial adviser taught me how to manage money. But it never taught me how to create it. It wasn’t until I started my side coaching business that I realised: Most corporate professionals - even top performers - never learn how to generate income outside of a paycheck. We’re trained to earn… but not to 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦. We’re taught how to manage budgets…but not how to market ourselves. We’re taught how to sell products…but not how to monetise our own expertise and experience. We’re taught how to follow systems…but not how to build them from scratch. So when career uncertainty hits, it’s not a lack of capability that holds people back. It’s the lack of business-building skills. That was me too - until I decided to change it. → I signed my first high ticket coaching clients in a completely new industry while still working full-time → Built a 5-figure side business working just 10 hours a week → Created a financial runway that most people never have And it all started with one powerful shift: I stopped relying on my 9 to 5 job to create financial security. I started relying on 𝘮𝘺 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. If you're in corporate and you've never been taught how to create income on your own terms, now is the 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 time to learn. DM me “𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘” and I’ll walk you through the steps I took to get started.
"Mum, I want to open a performing arts school one day." That’s what my 10-year-old told me in the car this week. I smiled. Then she kept going… She said it would include dancing, acting, and singing. She’d hire teachers who teach her now and would still perform professionally ☺️. She even described what the building would look like - 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘣𝘺 𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮. She’s already a dancer, singer, and actor herself. But in that moment, she wasn’t just dreaming. She was building. And I thought to myself: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀? Because 𝘐 didn’t learn this in school. Or uni. Or even in the first decade of my corporate career. No one ever taught me how to think like an entrepreneur. I was taught how to follow instructions. Not how to lead with vision. Not how to turn ideas into income. The traditional school system was built for the Industrial Revolution - Train people. Follow the rules. Get a job. Stay in line. But the world doesn’t work like that anymore. And what my 10-year-old reminded me of that morning is this: The future belongs to the kids who learn to create. Not just consume. Entrepreneurship isn’t just for grown-ups. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁. And it should start young. I’m raising a performer. But more importantly, I’m raising a visionary. (#proudmum) 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗳 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁… 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿. 👇 Do you think entrepreneurship should be taught in school?
At 16, I stood at a crossroads. I’d spent years dreaming of becoming a singer, and wanted to apply to one of China’s top music colleges. But my mum said: "It’s too hard." "That world is unstable." "Be realistic." So I listened. I chose finance. I built a “stable” 19+ years corporate career. Worked for some prestigious companies and with some high-profile clients. And for years, I convinced myself: this is the responsible path. But deep down, a part of me always wondered… 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥? And let me be clear: - My mum supported me in the best way she knew at that time. - She wanted to protect me from disappointment. - She gave me what she thought was the safest and stable path. I am forever grateful for that. Now I’m a mother to two daughters: → One is a straight-A student who is also a singer and great at the piano. → The other is a talented dancer and actor who loves performing on the big screen and stage. Most days after school and on weekends, my husband and I drive them to singing, acting, dancing, rehearsals and auditions. We invest in their passions. We cheer for them. Because we want them to believe something I didn’t fully believe back then: → You are allowed to dream. →You are allowed to try. → You don’t have to choose safety over possibility. And funny enough, while raising them, I finally chose to chase 𝘮𝘺 dream too. I built my own side business. I turned my knowledge into something meaningful. And I created an impact and a career option I never thought was possible back when I "played safe." People who love you may try to protect you, with love and what they know best - but only 𝘺𝘰𝘶 can protect your dreams. If you’ve ever been told to 'play safe' - but still chose to go after what you really wanted… You’re my kind of people. Drop a ❤️ if this resonates with your journey.
For a long time I thought a multiple 6-figure corporate salary equals financial security. Turns out - security doesn’t exist when 100% of your income depends on one salary. Because all it takes is: - One board meeting - One restructuring - One "business decision" - and your paycheck can disappear. That’s not security. That’s risk. Real security comes from building income options. → You control where revenue comes from. → You build high-income skills corporate never taught you. → You create options nobody can take away. A side business isn’t just a passion project. It’s your personal career insurance. Most people only start thinking about this after they’ve lost the job. The smart ones? They build it while they still have one. 👉 If you’re ready to build your own income option before you're forced to - DM me “SECURITY” and I’ll show you how to start.
The #1 trap corporate women fall into when building a side coaching business - It’s not that they’re not doing enough. It’s that they’re doing too much. They’re drowning in complexity. When I first started my coaching business alongside a full-time corporate job, I followed all the advice: - Build a funnel - Grow an email list - Create a low-ticket offer - Post daily - Launch a masterclass - Stay consistent (even when you have no idea what you’re doing) I was exhausted… before I even signed my first client. Here’s what I learned the hard way: - It’s not about working harder. - It’s about working on the right things with your limited time. Corporate women aren’t failing to launch their coaching business because they lack skill. They’re failing because no one taught them how to simplify. How to cut the noise and focus on what actually moves the needle: - 1 clear, high-value offer - 1 audience they can deeply serve - 1 simple, repeatable client system - 1 rock-solid mindset to keep going even when doubt creeps in This is what I teach now. Because building a side business while working full-time, raising a family, and living a full life? It doesn’t need endless hustle. It needs the right strategy. It needs simplicity. Real results don’t come from doing more. They come from doing the right things. I used to wonder if my side coaching business would ever become more than a side thing. Turns out… it can. Last week, I made the leap. No more corporate role, no backup plan - just me, doing the work I love, full time. But this post isn’t about me. It’s for the women I used to be. The ones sitting in mid-career roles - Skilled. Stretched. Feeling like they don’t want to rely on a single paycheck anymore. But quietly wondering if building something of their own could be part of their future too. If that’s you - and you’re sitting in the “should I explore this side business thing?” fog - I’ve opened a few 30-minute 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘚𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 this month. No pitch. No prep required. Just real talk about turning your story and skills into income. (Without quitting your 9-to-5.) 📌 DM me “CLARITY” if that feels like the right next step.
Let’s cut the BS for a second. Trying to grow a side online business while working full-time? "Time" is only one piece of the puzzle. The real cost? → The mental load. Most of the corporate women I work with? They’re not lacking motivation. They’re not slacking. They’re already doing all the things. And yet… Their business still feels stagnant. Messy behind the scenes. Nowhere near the income they expected. I’d love to know - what’s been the hardest part for you?
I managed millions for clients in my corporate job… But I still questioned whether my coaching idea was worth $1. Even with over a decade of experience, I froze. I had the skills. The proof. The desire to help. But when I thought about putting a price on my coaching idea? The doubt was louder than the evidence. Sound familiar? Most high-achieving women don’t stay stuck because they lack skills. They stay stuck because they never validate their idea - they just second-guess it for months (or years). What changed for me? I stopped guessing. And I started testing. Now I teach that same 3-step idea validation system - and I’ve packaged it into a free tool for you: 📌 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 🧠 Mini eBook + GPT tool to: → Clarify your niche → Validate your offer → Know if people will pay — all in 30 minutes If you’ve been circling the same idea in your head… Stop wondering. Start validating. 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 “𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥” — 𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿.
I wasted 2 years second-guessing my coaching idea. Not because I didn’t have experience. Not because I lacked skills. But because I kept wondering: “𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿?” Sound familiar? Most high-achieving corporate women never build their coaching business - not because they can’t… but because they stay stuck in self-doubt. When I started my side hustle coaching business, I had over a decade of experience. Clients in my day job trusted me with millions. But when it came to starting my business? I froze. For months I tried to… → Figure out my niche → Build an offer → Write content But deep down, I wasn't sure if my 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦. Things only changed when I stopped 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 and started 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. Now I teach that same 3-step validation system - and I’ve packaged it into a free tool so you don’t waste years like I did. 📌 It’s called the 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 — a short eBook + custom GPT tool to help you: → Clarify your niche → Validate your idea → Know if people will pay All in just 30 minutes If you’ve been circling the same idea in your head... stop wondering. Go validate it. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 '𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥', 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸.
I’m doing a little market research and would love your help 🙏 Curious to see what’s driving others to build something of their own - especially while still in a full-time role. Vote below (or drop your own reason in the comments!)👇or. DM me if you want your answer to be private!
Not every skill you’ve picked up in corporate is worth turning into a side coaching business. And that’s not a bad thing. That’s actually how you find your winning offer. The goal is to package the right skill that solves a real problem for the right person. Here’s what to look for instead: - You’ve lived the transformation yourself, not just studied it - People naturally come to you for this advice (without you even offering) - You can explain the result in one clear sentence - It creates no conflict of interest with your 9-5 role (That last one is critical.) Your side coaching business should complement your 9 to 5 job, not compete with it. When you pick the right skill: → You protect your integrity. → You protect your employment. → You create a real business that fits inside your life, not blow it up. If you’re not sure which skill is your 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 coaching offer - DM me "NICHE" and I’ll help you map it out.
I used to think working weekends meant I was doing life wrong. Now I build my dream from a café on a Saturday while my daughter’s in acting class. For the past 5 years, this has been my rhythm. Every Saturday, while my younger daughter is in her dancing or acting class, I grab a coffee, open my laptop, and work on my side coaching business. → A few focused hours while the kids are busy → One intentional task at a time → Building something that gives me freedom later This isn’t hustle. It’s alignment. I’m not hustling for someone else’s goals. I’m working on mine. Where I want. When I want. Because I’d rather spend 2-3 focused hours building 𝘮𝘺 dream on a Saturday… Than spend next 20 years fulfilling someone else’s Monday-Friday. If you’ve been wondering if it’s worth starting your side coaching business now - even with limited time, let this be your reminder: You don’t need perfect conditions. You just need a reason. And a plan. Start small. Start now ☕️ I’m curious - do you have a “weekend ritual” that secretly powers your dream?
I had the perfect plan for my first week working for myself. But life had other plans. After 19.5 years in corporate and 5 years building my business on the side… This was the week I officially became my own boss. I planned it all: → 5 LinkedIn posts, fully mapped out → A comeback on my Instagram → A rebrand for my podcast → And a 4-day coastal holiday with my husband and our girls to celebrate this next chapter and school holiday I was ready to start strong. Then I got really sick last Saturday. And today, our entire trip was cancelled because of a bomb cyclone. So instead of beach walks, whale and dolphin watching and creative flow… I’ve been in bed for 3 days with tissues, a foggy brain, and a whole lot of guilt for 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 in week one. But here’s what I realised: → Entrepreneurship isn’t about sticking to a perfect plan. → It’s about building something resilient - even when 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 not at 100%. Because life will test you the moment you commit to something bigger. Not to stop you. But to refine you. To remind you: → Your strength isn’t in showing up 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 things go to plan - It’s in learning how to move forward when they don’t. So here’s to soft starts. To slow mornings. To building something real - even when it’s not polished or perfect. Have you ever had life throw a curveball right after making a bold move? Tell me how you handled it - I’d love to hear your story 👇
Today is my last day in corporate. After 19.5 years. Even writing that feels surreal. Five years ago, I started building my side hustle coaching business. Not because I wanted to escape my 9 to 5. I liked my corporate job. I was good at it. I had "stability". But this time… when the right opportunity landed, I didn’t hesitate. Because I wasn’t just ready to leave. I was ready to lead - on my own terms. → More alignment. → More ownership of my income, time, energy, and future. → The chance to build a business and life - I don’t want to escape from. This wasn’t a leap without preparation. It was 5 years in the making. Late nights. Early mornings. Weekend café work sessions while my kids were at dance or acting class. Saying no to the “nice to haves” so I could say yes to what really mattered. There were seasons I doubted it all. Was it really possible to grow a side business while working full-time and raising a family? Would the effort actually pay off? Now I know the answer is yes. Because I’ve seen what happens when you stop waiting for the “perfect time”, and start creating your own financial runway. Today, I close this chapter with deep gratitude. For the lessons. For the friendships. The stability that carried me - while I built something new. Now I’m stepping into the next season with both feet. → Building my online coaching business full-time. → Helping other corporate women do the same. → Creating wealth, impact, and career freedom - one coaching offer at a time. If you’re still in the messy middle - building your runway and figuring it out- I see you. Follow along if you are also building a life and career you don’t need to escape from 💛.
The moment I knew my “safe” job wasn’t safe. I was sipping my coffee at 8.30 am, settling into another day at the fancy office… Thirty minutes later, I was being walked out of the building with nothing but my handbag. Redundant. No warning. No chance to say goodbye to my team. Just gone. That was 2018. We had two kids under six. Two mortgages. Daycare and private school fees. I called my husband, crying - it felt like my world had clapped. And in that moment, I promised myself something: 𝗜 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. I’d done everything “right.” Worked hard. Top performer. Stayed loyal. But none of it protected me. I wish I could say I immediately followed my passion or started a business the next day. I didn’t. I took another high-paying job. But something had shifted inside me. I knew I needed to build something that couldn’t be taken away in a 10-minute meeting. So I started a side hustle. At first, it was fitness coaching. Helping busy mums like me stay consistent with their exercises and nutrition. That little project brought in my first $1,000, then turned a 5-figure side business. All while working full-time and raising two kids. No fancy funnels. No 40-hour work weeks. Just focus. Clarity. And a whole lot of courage. But more importantly, it showed me what's possible. And last week? I wrapped up my 19.5-year corporate career - on my own terms. If you’re sitting in a mid-career role wondering… “𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰?” The answer is: 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗬𝗘𝗦! You don’t need to quit to begin. You just need the right strategy. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁? 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 "𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧' - I’ll send you a free resource "Coaching Idea Validator + the custom GPT" to test it in 30 minutes. Because the best time to start… is before you need to 💛.
