Working with Aquatics GB and the Olympic Swimming World Class programme as a UKSI Senior Performance Lifestyle Coach is my squiggly career dream. It’s been over 20 years in the making taking experiences from each wonderful role throughout my career, strengthening my skill set with purposeful learning & development and knowing that to be truly satisfied in my work I need to be true to my values. To combine this role, with my own consultancy business Pause Play Perform and be present for my family is a juggling act I embrace. Sprinkled amongst this is an understanding that to be present I need to protect time for me too - I’m by no means perfect at this and lean into my support network to help guide me. ——— Pause Play Perform In high performing environments the pace of pursuing ‘better’ is often all consuming so we can become lost and loose connection to who we are beyond this bubble. In these fast-paced worlds, it’s easy to overlook the ebb and flow of our thoughts and feelings. Time becomes the driver and often engaging in playful experimentation for personal development is limited and seen as a distraction.
