FREELANCE EDITOR, WRITER AND CONTENT SPECIALIST

Responsible for all English-language content for this Middle Eastern conglomerate, including Pragma’s corporate office, Cavalli Club, Restaurant & Lounge, Cavalli Caffè, Health Factory, Cirque Le Soir and Three Dots. This included investment presentation decks, corporate reports, magazine features, radio and print ads, all social media channels, packaging and menus.

Co-founder and editorial director of The PR Clinic, overseeing all editorial output, such as press releases, copywriting, corporate profiles, websites, social media management and client collateral and publications.

Key accounts included: Mars, Wheeler’s restaurant (Marco Pierre White), Korn Ferry, the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools Group and Atlas Group.

CO-FOUNDER & EDITORIAL DIRECTOR

Coordinated all regional parenting titles in the ITP Time Out portfolio (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Doha), managing one monthly title, an annual guide book, three quarterlies and regular supplements from concept to production. Under my leadership, these publications saw a significant increase in copy sales, with consistent double-digit growth year on year thanks to targeted covers, high quality editorial and innovative, informative features.

MANAGING EDITOR - TIME OUT KIDS

Writer and editor for all lifestyle editorial within Grazia Middle East (weekly) and Grazia Bahrain (monthly), including news, interviews, and features on women’s interest, health, art, culture, travel, fashion, beauty and fitness. Commissioned content from agencies and freelancers and coordinated editorial from the fashion and beauty team. In this dual role, I was also sub-editor for both titles and their
social media.

LIFESTYLE EDITOR AND SUB-EDITOR - GRAZIA

The Media Factory

Deputy editor working across the portfolio of consumer and contract lifestyle titles. This included The Dubai Mall Magazine, Oryx (Qatar Airways inflight) and Sawasdee (Thai Airways inflight), Kempinski Middle East (hotel magazine), Location (design and interiors) and Emaar Property (real estate). Also responsible for creating editorial and concept direction for pitches, bringing in new business from clients including Hamptons International, Thai Airways, Emaar and Rivoli Group.

Motivate Publishing

Features editor covering events and activities across the region for this monthly publication. Additional duties included shopping columns, restaurant and bar reviews, proofing and subbing and generating engaging headlines, standfirsts and captions. I also regularly contributed to other titles, including Stuff, Emirates Woman, Society Dubai and Hello.

FEATURES EDITOR – WHAT'S ON MAGAZINE

Corporate Publishing International

Working with a tight-knit team of writers, designers and photographers, this included writing and editing across the magazine, such as celebrity interviews, fashion, beauty, food and travel. Commissioned copy, interviews and photoshoots, and provided maternity cover for the executive editor.

DEPUTY EDITOR – OK! MIDDLE EAST

LexisNexis Butterworths

Joined LexisNexis as online editor for Legal Updater, a subscription-based current awareness product and online archive of legal material for law firms, businesses, local authorities, educational establishments and professionals. Contributed to print titles including the New Law Journal and the Young Solicitors’ Group. 
After two years in this role, I moved internally to join the Looseleafs, Annuals and Textbooks division. As editor, I was responsible for a cross section of legal titles in both textbook and looseleaf formats, overseeing all aspects of the publishing process, including liaising with UK Law Lords, negotiating budgets, producing schedules and editing all written content.

Kids Company

Kids Company Higher Education Department operated as a drop in centre for young people aged 14-23. I acted as a personal assistant and an assistant teacher in City and Guilds Basic Literacy, where I prepared lessons, helped students with reading and writing, as well as assessing work and keeping accurate records of their progress.
