Claire is Founder & General Partner of igniteXL Ventures, a Silicon Valley based global pre-seed and seed fund dedicated to fueling innovation at the intersection of health, technology, and consumer experiences. igniteXL Ventures’ mission is to catalyze the future of health and wellness on a global scale by identifying and empowering exceptional founders who drive market disruptions to positively impact how we look, feel, live, and age. igniteXL Ventures Fund 1 has invested in 30 companies, including Bubble, Buywith, Dame, Ettitude, HelloBiome, Lion Pose, Musely, and Oros, among others. Born in South Korea and fluent in Korean, Claire has spent the past 20 years in Silicon Valley ecosystem as a founder, investor, and advisor, nurturing her love of technology marketing and fostering global connections. The guiding threads throughout Claire’s professional journey are her superpower for connecting people, her addiction to entrepreneurship and the founder-journey, and her unique multi-cultural and global view of the world—which is critically relevant in an increasingly global society. In addition to her work with igniteXL Ventures, Claire is involved in several leading professional industry organizations across technology, health, and wellness. Claire currently serves on the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Innovation Advisory Committee, the Howe Innovation Center for Disability Tech, an advisory group of the Perkins School for the Blind, and is a participating member of the AARP AgeTech Collaborative. Claire also serves as a Board Member of Buywith, a leading livestream platform and as a Board Observer of Ettitude, a fabric innovation company. Prior to founding igniteXL Ventures, Claire founded and operated igniteXL, a Silicon Valley-based global accelerator focused on early-stage startups from Korea to explore and expand into United States market. Over 250 Korean founders graduated from the accelerator’s Silicon Valley immersion and market access programs. Some of the notable companies include: Flitto, KnowRe, Smart Study, Neostream, Dabeeo, Stratio, and more.
