NYC during Christmas should be on your bucket list 🎄 


Blair and I went with my siblings + parents for the first time two years ago and WOW did we have wayyy too much fun!

So naturally, we decided we should again this year ❤️ 


Maybe it's my family's crazy love for Xmas.
Maybe it's just the rare uninterrupted quality time.

But there's something magical about the season.


So, if you are like us and:
- Decorate for Christmas the day after Halloween
- Watch Family Stone + Christmas Vacation on Repeat
- Listen to Christmas music all year round

The longer I work alongside people in the trades, the more I’m convinced they’re not just building our infrastructure — they’re building the future of real wealth in America.

These men and women show up early, work hard, solve problems most of us couldn’t begin to figure out, and take pride in doing things right. They don’t talk about resilience on podcasts — they live it.

Somewhere along the way, our culture started looking down on the trades — treating college degrees as “status” and manual work as something to escape or "lesser than." 


But I’ve seen firsthand that the people who swing hammers, pour concrete, and keep the lights on are the ones who actually own their skills, control their time, and have more options than ever to shape their futures.

As technology and automation drastically reduce headcounts in white-collar roles, those in the trades continue to hold something increasingly rare...

Tangible, irreplaceable value.


After a hiatus of about 10 years, being beside hardworking folks in trade roles again has humbled me and reminded me what real hard work looks like.

To everyone in the trades — thank you. ❤️ 

You deserve far more respect & recognition than you get.

Spotlighting ALL of Kansas City today on the heels of the Kansas City Area Development Council Annual Meeting Last week with 2,000 attendees from throughout the region!


And boy does KC have a lot to celebrate!
- $1.3 billion in capital investment

- $275 million in wages
- Numerous Notable Commercial Developments


Specific Shout Outs:
- Fiserv new strategic hub coming to Overland Park, KS (Bringing 2,000 new jobs /  $175 million in capital investment.)
- Merck’s $895 million investment in the region.
- All the Preparation for Hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States in Kansas City!


And finally, one of the best keynotes I've ever seen in Will Guidara left me feeling inspired and motivated to not only reread his "Unreasonable Hospitality" and finish the Bear (he helped produce), but to really think about how we can find innovative ways to go the extra mile for our clients.

Travel Tuesday ✈️ 

Washington, D.C. is my favorite US city.

(And not just because I lived there ~4 years)

Here's Some Specific Reasons:
- Free Museums 🖼️ 
- Very Walkable + Ample Green Space 🌳 
- Best Metro System in the Country 🚆 
- Distinct Neighborhoods + Local Vibes 🤙 
- Old History Meets Modern Architecture 🏛️ 🏙️
- The Food Scene is BOOMING 😋 

+ Diversity / International Culture Everywhere! 🌎 🌍 🌏 


Politics aside, D.C. has forever been on the receiving end of unfair misconceptions and characterizations from the rest of the country - due in large part to the transplants that live their periodically - rather than the locals who actually call the region HOME.


The political sphere / elites that (sometimes) work on Capitol Hill?
Yeah they make me want to be anywhere else too.

But the local communities comprised of proud & hard-working people? 
That's where D.C. has my heart. ❤️ 

Catch me sitting on a stoop anywhere / everywhere. 😎 


PS - For those that care about facts, D.C. Crime Rates where at a record low in 2024 before this administration change. It's a beautiful place Blair and I are thrilled to visit again this week for the wedding of some of our best friends (and will continue to visit time and time again with our children in tow). 

For those that care, the narrative and story some clowns 🤡  want you to believe about this city could not be further from the truth.

A Peruvian restaurant housed in one of my favorite little corners of the city (Blagden Alley), Blair and I got to:

- Sample some incredible fusion dishes
- Try perhaps the best dessert I’ve maybe ever had in my life (ask about Macambo 😋) 


…But most importantly…just catch up!


It’s dinners and experiences like these that remind me, travel is good for our souls.
