My role at David Phillips is working with our Student Accommodation Providers across the North of the UK within the University, PBSA and HMO sector. The Student Accommodation market is an exciting place to be as the standard of accommodation continues to rise. 

The summer months are always a period of change and improvement ahead of the new academic year. We remove the headache of refurbishment and replenishment of furniture with our turn key service from design to install through to removal.

Development Executive

Aspen Insurance Group

- Moved into the Commercial sector to broaden my knowledge and experience in the insurance market

- Responsible for managing our sales process with our broker panel. Receiving and reviewing risk enquiries with brokers from lead to prospect to quote, while understanding and probing what value Aspen can add beyond just the placement of the insurance

- Involved in providing tutorials and presentations on our proposition to brokers and clients to underline our value in helping our brokers win and retain business at the best possible premiums

- Contribute to the strategic planning and reporting, be able to analyse internal and external performance and devise more effective solutions to deliver a better result for the branch

Business Development

Endsleigh Insurance Services Ltd

- Developing strong commercial relationships with Universities, Colleges, Letting Agents and Landlords, maintaining the brand as the number one student insurer, delivering successful acquisition campaigns, enquiry generation and student engagement
-Identifying new business opportunities and growing the block accommodation account within a dynamic, student and graduate focused environment.
- Responsible for the acquisition of new partnerships within the University, College and Private Rented Sector in my allocated area. Also responsible for the management of these new partnerships, whilst securing income for the business and increasing Endsleigh’s market share within the accommodation sector.
- Developing a detailed understanding of our markets, industry, products and services and collaborating with other areas of the business to support the Company’s strategic objectives
- Agreeing and working towards a sound financial plan and budgets in all areas of the business, including projects, marketing activity and personal expenditure

Account Manager - Student Accommodation

Working for Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited in the Student Marketing Team. 
Responsible for 14 key accounts across Scotland, holding relationships with partners, building the business and developing and implementing key campaigns.
My role involves:
Seeking new income opportunities through creating, developing and maintaining relationships between the company and key personnel in Universities in Scotland.
Gaining improved access to the market while delivering growth, increased brand exposure and organisational goals.
Planning and implementing core campaigns, involving the recruitment and training of a temporary sales team, with the central aim of selling specialist Insurance products to students throughout the year.
Continuing to improve and strengthen Endsleigh’s position in the market place through effective marketing contract negotiation with partners whilst utilising online marketing tools and social media with strong ROI outputs.

Account Executive

Sport Ecosse Sports Camps

SportEcosse is a sports camp set up by a former professional tennis coach which is based in the west end of Glasgow. Coaches children ages 5-14 in a variety of team and individual sports.
My role included:
Day to day organisation and running of the Sports Camp.
Responsibility for opening and closing of the premises. 
Collecting fees from parents, deciding and issuing the staff shift pattern. 
Choosing which sports are applicable to the varying ages and abilities of the children in attendance and managing the contrasting needs of each specific child. 
Handling of petty cash, sports equipment and stock.

Head Coach/Camp Manager

Working at Freshers Fayres and Key Collection at Halls of Residence explaining to new students the level of cover already provided by Endsleigh through their accommodation and enabling them to extend their cover if required. Being a key member of a team supporting the student journey and helping to meet their insurance needs. Setting up, organising and managing events in the Glasgow area. Awarded the 2011 University of Glasgow Student Employee of the Year - On Campus award by NASES.
