Working with a team of talented copywriters, designers, video editors and project managers, I make sure our videos are engaging to the audience, meet the brand standards & goals of the client, and deliver strong organic viewership.

The first job of any creative department is to tell stories. 

Stories that move your audience to watch, engage with and share what you've created. Stories that enrich and amplify your partners' brand messaging -- not just house it.

Every member of Enthusiast Gaming's Content team, from video editors to graphic designers, pride themselves on telling these stories. As a leader, I aim to put them in the best position to do that while setting and enforcing the standard for the highest quality creative work.

And it's that philosophy that's lead to successful creative projects in partnership with brands like Netflix, PUMA, Paramount, Cricket Wireless and the NFL.

Supported by a team of hard working creative professionals, I develop and execute custom content projects for EG's external partners, build successful always-on O&O content brands, and drive the creation of major tentpole content programs.

Director of Video Content

In my role as Creative Director, I helped bridge the gap between Enthusiast Gaming's powerful network of original creative properties and brands who need their story told.

Brands like Xbox, Netflix, PUMA, Universal Pictures, Logitech, TikTok, Cricket Wireless and more.

Working with a team of more than two dozen talented professionals who create original content both within and adjacent to the gaming space, I help creatively drive Enthusiast Gaming's growing network of owned and operated video series. It's a network of a dozen distinct brands that speak to gamers of all kinds both in and out of the game, and brings in north of 70 million views a month. 

Collaborating with internal stakeholders as well as external clients, I also develop and execute custom content to the highest possible storytelling and production standards -- whether that's a single TikTok video or whole series of mini-documentaries.

Monthly Puroresu

Monthly Puroresu is a print-first magazine dedicated to the niche of Japanese professional wrestling.

I write long-form features for the publication, which take deep dives into the people, stories and happenings that hardcore wrestling fans are passionate about. This is a niche I'm personally invested in and   I pride myself in telling well-researched, emotionally evocative and conceptually complete stories from the world of "puro".

The magazine is available in print format first, followed by digital uploads.

Upcomer

As a co-founder and the Director of Video Content at Upcomer, I managed the creation, production and strategic publication of creative video for the brand.

From initial ideation to the script, to the editing, packaging and performance metrics, I was responsible for making sure our video content was leading the way in the esports content industry. Upcomer's video projects were produced with the highest storytelling standards in mind and published on strict deadlines, publishing on platforms like YouTube and SnapChat,

I ran a team of nine full-time professionals, and several part-time contributors and freelancers

As a contributing writer for StarTrek.com, the official Star Trek website, I pitch and produce fun, engaging and authentic written Star Trek content on a freelance basis.

My articles aim to entertain, inform and speak to both a casual and hardcore Star Trek audience.

theScore, Inc.

As a Supervising Editor of content at theScore esports, I helped manage the planning, execution and follow-through of creative video content on theScore esports' YouTube and social channels. This came in the form of feature video documentaries, video news pieces, top 10 lists, and a wide range of esports-focused fact-based video entertainment. 

Being one of the people overseeing a team of nearly 30 content creators, I made sure our video content was exciting, entertaining, published on deadline and produced with the highest storytelling standards in mind, as well as being optimized for performance. 

Over the course of several years of working at theScore, I helped grow this channel from one with tens of thousands of subscribers, to one with nearly two million

I also contributed as a writer and host, and have developed a passionate fan following for my work in front of the camera, whether it be for uncovering and delivering news stories or performing as the voice of some of theScore's most popular esports documentaries.

Metro News Canada

During my time at Metro, I wrote punchy, passion-driven features on movies. Highlights of my film writing work include a week-long series on the then upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens film, as well as a 26-article feature on the best cinema Canada has to offer.

As a trends aggregator, I caught emerging social media trends and capitalized on them by creating concise, web-first content on tight deadlines.

Film writer, trends reporter

As Metro's evening web editor, I handled late breaking news, feature projects, ran many of Metro's social media channels, and liaised with managing editors and reporters across the country.

Working both solo and as team with one colleague, I have been the digital vanguard for Metro on stories like the Rob Ford crack scandal, the Moncton shootings, and every provincial, federal and local municipal election from 2012 to 2017.

Working evenings on the web desk of a national newspaper gave me all the responsibilities and the freedoms that come with being the single point of contact for Metro's digital presence, from Halifax to Vancouver and in between.

Web Editor

The Ryersonian

As online managing editor, I was responsible for the Ryersonian's web platform, ryersonian.ca. I curated the site, uploading and updating stories, editing photos for the web, was a last line of defence copy editor, and made editorial decisions on what and how to publish content. 

As a reporter, I was responsible for writing stories, shooting video, and creating info graphics and images on tight deadlines.

The Hamilton Spectator

As a reporter-intern at the Spectator, I wrote stories for the local news, business, and sports sections on tight deadlines. I produced videos for the web, sometimes to compliment print stories, sometimes to stand on their own online. 

I also produced multimedia pieces from aggregated web content. These pieces would include videos, links, image galleries, and other multimedia elements.
