Software architecture patterns provide templates for designing and organizing software systems efficiently. These patterns define structural frameworks for various functionalities and interactions within the system.

Event-Driven architecture coordinates actions around events, like a real-time analytics system capturing user activities. Layered architecture organizes functionalities into hierarchical layers, such as a web app with presentation, business logic, and data layers. Monolithic architecture integrates all components tightly, as seen in a small e-commerce site with UI, server-side app, and DB on one platform. Microservices architecture splits the system into independent services, exemplified by Netflix's cloud-based setup with modular services.

MVC (Model-View-Controller) separates data, interface, and control, providing clarity in design, as in a desktop app with clear divisions. Finally, the Master-Slave pattern involves a central master controlling subordinate instances, like a database replication system managing writes and reads.
