We’re going going back back to Cali Cali. Sara McCormick and I are kicking off the work travel season in style. 

Starting with San Francisco for Ironclad implementation partner bootcamp, and event planning. Looking forward to meeting their partnership and events team to talk about seamless integration and CrushContracts Academy. 

Of course, after careful packing and preparation, I forgot my wallet. Left with enough time and with an amazing boyfriend Tom Jaynes who went back and brought it to the airport. What a guy. “He is the right choice, that I made.”

But first Napa and catching up with my law school roomie and bestie Natasha Rose and my work life bestie Sara McCormick. It will be a wonderful week of friends, work, and wine.

We made history last night. Started a new era of safety in Village of Barrington. The Village formally approved our demand, and passed the motion to add more crossing guards and increase their hourly rate! Train and traffic. 

We were also recognized and thanked by several board members, and I appreciate that. 

Our treasurer, Lauren Reeves, and I spoke on Barrington Student Safety Org’s work so far, and what we will continue to do: track student railroad crossing data and ped gate progress.

Thank you to all the volunteers and community members who joined the mission. 

It was also memorable to see police aChief Dorn retire, and Chief Burke being sworn in. Both such remarkable men and dedicated to Barrington’s safety. Many of the police officers were there, and it was heartwarming to see that. 

I am relieved. This is a huge moment for us. We believed things should be better. We asked for it. We demanded it. We showed up. We showed that things can change. Barrington residents can unite and fight for the common good. Marin Lacson’s tragedy inspired us. Our love for our community united, motivated, and empowered us. 
 
This is the beginning of a safer Barrington. I feel so relieved and proud of my community, and myself. I am exhausted, but happy.
