CAPS Network

As President and Executive Director of CAPS Network, Inc., I direct a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on paving the education-to-employment path through profession-based learning. Programs that affiliate with CAPS Network share best practices and connections with professional partners, post-secondary institutions, teachers and students. The CAPS model is an example of how business, community and public education can partner to produce personalized learning experiences that educate the workforce of tomorrow, especially in high skill, high demand jobs.   

The CAPS Network now includes 96 unique programs, encompassing 170+ school districts in 23 states and four countries.

Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS)

Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) is a nationally recognized, innovative high school program. Students fast forward into their future and are fully immersed in a professional culture, solving real world problems, using industry standard tools and are mentored by actual employers, all while receiving high school and college credit.  www.bvcaps.org 

Accomplishments include:  Launch of the national CAPS Network (2015); FETC STEM Program of the Year Finalist (2016); KC Business Journal Impact Award Winner in Education (2015); CAPS recognition at Edison Awards (2015); CAPS Named P21 21st Century Exemplar Program (2016); ASUGSV Innovative Educator Award Finalist (2020)

Executive Director

Kansas City Startup Foundation

KCSF connects pivotal community members who must play an active role within the ecosystem if it is to grow and prosper, including entrepreneurs, governments, corporations, schools, investors, and nonprofits.

Coordinated overall direction of financial assistance programs, including the StartUp Kansas Loan Fund and the Kansas Capital Multiplier Loan and Venture Funds. Partnered on the Kansas Economic Gardening Network and provided oversight of the NetWork Kansas referral center, connecting Kansas entrepreneurs to over 500 resource partners.
