Led the Material Planning Team at Gigafactory Texas. As a team, our goal was to ensure supply continuity to the production line, mitigate material risk and minimize cost. Managed an electric vehicle supply chain during Covid and in a brand new factory was no easy task, but our team was tactful and driven.

First supply chain manager of the Material Planning Team for the vehicle program at Gigafactory Texas, my scope was to ensure supply chains are optimized and risk is mitigated for all vehicle parts with the consideration of engineering changes, supplier capacity and warehouse space availability.

As the Material Planner for The Drive Unit Program at Gigafactory Texas, Gigafactory Berlin and Gigafactory Shanghai, I was responsible for creating and maintaining the supply chain, managing the ramp plan, providing clear to build reports based on material lead time and availability, consistently analyzing the inventory position of all materials as well as initiating and building relationships with suppliers.

New Product Introduction Materials Program Manager | Drive Unit

As the Material Planner for the Supercharger 3 manufacturing line at GFNY, I was responsible for deploying inventory strategies, managing and solving exceptions and driving supplier execution. 

I coordinated supplier constraints in a network of 75+ international and domestic suppliers, while also managing 330+ parts and their corresponding engineering changes.

I have successfully executed multiple ramp ups and ramp downs for new product launches and end of life products. I simultaneously provided data-driven decision support to the organization for scenario planning.

Material Planner | Supercharger 3

Harmac Medical Products

My role at Harmac Medical Products was cross functional in nature. I engaged with the engineering department, manufacturing/operations managers, buyers, customers and suppliers on a daily basis.

I supported the development of the global supply chain strategy by:
Coordinating material requirements in a timely and economic manner
Negotiating price, delivery and material availability 
Monitoring supplier performance and cost reduction programs
Achieving raw material inventory goals, reducing lead times and maintaining safety stocks
Managing performance to relevant metrics including inventory turns, PPV and on time delivery

I also consistently looked for areas to implement process improvement and lean initiatives. Projects included:
Cost reduction of freight
Production schedule optimization
Kan Ban card system maintenance and development

I am grateful to have found such a dynamic opportunity for my first role out after graduation!

Supply Chain Specialist

New Era Cap

I have worked on a number of projects at New Era Cap. These include:

Streamlined vendor on-boarding process within the supply chain department through process mapping: I utilized Six Sigma Tools and process mapping to outline the current process for on-boarding new customers and removing any non value added steps in the process. I collaborated with my supervisor to determine how the process can be best organized to produce the most efficient and effective result. This project involves a research phase in which I collect information from the employees who are a part of the on-boarding process, in addition to a mapping phase to lay out the current state and possible future state maps. Ultimately, one was chosen and presented to upper management with the supporting data and research.

Negotiated with external vendors in order to satisfy the contractual needs of both parties: I negotiated with external vendors on a daily basis to discuss the contracts that exist among both parties. I read through the contracts to look for statements that may conflict with New Era's vendor guide and reached out to the vendor to come to an agreement that satisfies both parties.

Implemented forecasting software to reduce forecasting error: I worked with the Supply Chain Department to implement a new software that will prove to be more accurate in terms of forecasting. I am integrating the past data with the new software and helping the department to on board the tool with ease. In addition, I determined how much more accurate the software is than the previous software and the cost savings associated with this in the coming years.

Redesign the new Vendor Compliance internal website and introduce the platform to other departments by providing live tutorials: In the fall of 2017 I began the process of redesigning an internal communication tool that New Era employees utilize. I applied the Human Computer Interaction skills I have acquired from my IE degree to this project.

Vendor Compliance | Supply Chain Intern

I led the executive board to meet the needs of our members and define supply chain related careers. In addition, I strived to engage individuals in supply chain management through case competitions, facility tours and club involvement opportunities.

In the academic year of 2017-2018 our goal was to build the SCOM Club to be a strong, sustainable and effective organization. When I began this venture I wanted to be sure my personal values of determination, consistency, professionalism and positivity were expressed throughout the club. I feel as though this has been successful, because of the camaraderie that has arisen amongst members and the hard work that has been executed by the Executive Board and supporting Chair Members. Our most notable success has been the organization of the SCOM Club case competition that was hosted at UB in early March.

The SCOM Club gained a strong foundation and has continued to build on the momentum in successive years.

Xerox

A member of the Xerox College Experiential Learning Program (XCEL) in the Summer of 2017. Responsibilities include project management, statistical analysis and optimizing asset recovery. 

As an intern at Xerox I worked on a number of projects in three departments including the following:

Product Quality: I utilized SQL and DOE methods to execute experiments on faulty ink jets.

Asset recovery: I was assigned a team of three total interns and together we analyzed a component in a specific model printer that failed regularly and received many service calls. It was our goal to find a more cost effective way to fix the printer. 

We investigated the component by analyzing several examples of this component that were returned to our facility by the Xerox service men. We performed experiments on the parts to determine what may have caused the failure of the part within the infrastructure. A Pareto chart was used to express the categories of failures. After research and experimentation we determined that the most cost effective way to service the machines is to replace the subcomponent of the component. This subcomponent replacement was discovered through trial and error and root cause analysis applications.

Supplier Quality: I was assigned a supplier of Xerox and was required to manage the relationship as well as achieve mutual goals amongst Xerox and the supplier. I began this process by reaching out to the supplier and setting up a schedule of communication for the next three months. I also set up weekly goals to be sure the ultimate goals is reached at the end of the internship. I visited the supplier to determine which parts and/or tools were to be scrapped in order to free up facility space and free up the time of the engineer that was in charge of managing the tools. I researched the parts and tools in a terminal via their part names and determined based on the results whether or not they should be scrapped. I achieved the goal of scrapping 930 parts.

Worked in GMS (Global Manufacturing System) Department to improve manufacturing operations. Completed Red X training as well as  focused workshops to minimize the process time, improve quality and enforce safety precautions. Collaborated with production and engineering management employees to standardize and improve maintenance work procedure documents. Successfully reduced the changeover time in the oil cooler production cell.
