Since I have worked at Baker McKenzie I have learnt how the systems and procedures work in order to carry out my role correctly. For example using the internal system of GIPM. I use GIPM for record management and for producing trade mark diaries for the fee earners that I work with.

During my employment at Baker McKenzie, I have worked on many different projects. involving the assignment of Trade marks, my work included sending and receiving legal documents once they had been legalised. Also updating the tracker once the documents had been sent and received by ourselves or local agents. 

When requested, I produce  documents to convey the information contained within Watch notices sent to  fee earners that I work with. 

I also collect and collate evidence to send to EUIPO and the UKIPO. This involved researching online for use of the trade mark in question and then producing copies of the evidence for filing. 

When requested, I carry out Inspiro searches and conflict checks for fee earners. This involves inputting data sent to me which is then used to complete the online form.

Working with the Phase 1 & 2 Managers in the provision of administrative support relating to the teaching of MBBS Phase 1 & Phase 2 (MBBS Years 1 to 4 & GEP Part 1) undergraduate degree programmes i.e. teaching support, record keeping, assessment and quality assurance support, information provision.

This post involved supporting the administration, management and development of the Programmes of study within the IHSE, including the school-wide MMBS, while assisting in an ongoing programme of review which enabled the School to meet high standards of scrutiny and ensure high quality professional training and education for the students.

The Intellectual Property Institute (IPI)

My main role as the Intellectual Property Institute administrator, was to ensure the smooth running of the Intellectual Property Institute. I was the key contact for the Intellectual Property institute and I was primarily responsible for the day to day running of the office. As part of my day to day role I  updated the website, for example placing new members onto the website and also updating the website with current events being held by the institute. I provided general assistance to the Director of the Institute and I worked in promoting the Institute to potential new members. I also assisted with the administration for the research projects that were being run by the Institute. For example I dealt with invoices and payment for the researchers and also dealt with such organisation as The Intellectual Property office. I also supervised the internship programme that the Institute runs. I worked with the interns and provided assistance to them for example helping them to understand the law of Intellectual Property in the UK and Europe. I dealt with the financial side of the Institute, by keeping up to date records of the incoming and outgoing of the Institute, I also deal with Companies House, the charities commission and the Inland revenue to ensure that the Institute met the compliance rules set out for a charity.

- Intellectual Property, including Trade Mark and Copyright
- Trade Mark applications
- Review and creation of Intellectual Property agreements


The key areas of my day to day work include all aspects of Company and Commercial Law. I have an interest in all areas of Intellectual Property mainly focusing on Trade mark and Copyright Law.

During my time as a solicitor I have worked on Intellectual Property matters involving a premier league and England striker and also a Copyright assignment relating to famous album covers and there content.
