On September 30th, 2013, I had "it all." On October 1st, 2013, I lost it all. Because on October 1st, 2013, I was arrested by the FBI and charged with one count of mail fraud. I pleaded guilty (because I was) and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison, 3 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution over 800k. I lost my career, money, marriage, homes, and cars. But worse than that, I lost my identity and didn't know who I was other than the man who sabotaged and ultimately destroyed his life. I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I moved forward anyway, violating my inner voice every step of the way. I was so consumed by shame that I was planning how I'd kill myself. Fortunately, a well-timed visit (inside prison) from my best friend of over 30 years turned my life around. Today, I'm a Keynote & TEDx Speaker, Author, and Reinvention Architect.
