Centre for Digital Media

I teach Market Research for Product Development in the Masters of Digital Media program at CDM. I am also involved behind the scenes at CDM with strategic development for the school as it grows in the years to come.

My role as Executive Director was to manage operations, staffing, finances and marketing/sales for the HiVE.

During my tensure, I grew revenue by 50%, ensured the financial stability of the organization, increased demand for co-working spaces at the HiVE with minimal marketing effort and formed excellent relationships with HiVE members.

I was a qualitative research specialist, technology subject matter expert and Manager of the Inter@ctive Reid report. Worked with the Marketing Research and Media CT practices at Ipsos Reid specializing in Consumer Goods, Travel/Tourism and Technology.

Clients included: BCAA, Nintendo Canada, Tourism Canada, Interfor and Shell Oil.

Associate Vice President

Clevest Solutions Inc

Clevest (acquired by IFS long after I left), was at one point the fastest growing private company in BC. They build Mobile Field Force software solutions for the utilities industry. Put simply, their software connects the back office at a utility to the field workers - allowing real-time, two-way communication to ruggedized PDAs or laptops. 

In my role as Marketing Manager, I launched a new website, introduced content marketing and automated inbound marketing platforms (Pardot).

Ignitia Consulting Inc.

Early version of CTRS - was in the business of helping our clients start new things or take what they're currently doing in a new direction. We used our experience and diverse perspectives to lead our clients through new product/service development and change management.

Highlights of my work:

- Developed new social enterprise revenue streams for non-profits
- Helped UBC develop eight new degree or certificate programs
- Worked with a number of organizations to introduce cloud computing solutions and processes to increase productivity while reducing IT costs
- Closely involved with a revamp of the trades training system in BC

Asia Pacific Gateway Skills Table

The Asia Pacific Gateway Skills Table was tasked with finding ways to help BC overcome a looming labour shortage in skilled trades related to building and maintaining transportation infrastructure. As Project Manager, I was responsible for setting up the office, establishing pilot projects and research projects during the startup phase of the organization.

My primary role with Rocket Builders was market intelligence work in the high tech industry. It's an excellent group to work with because it's a brain trust and a loose framework for top-notch consultants to work within. The expertise I brought to the group was process expertise in qualitative and quantitative research as well as subject matter expertise in the Energy and Nanotechnology sectors.

BC Hydro

Worked with internal project teams and departments to help them make more effective policy and planning decisions that factor in public and aboriginal interests. My main contribution to BC Hydro has been strategic thinking, technical skills, and people skills applied to building and maintaining cross-functional working groups within BC Hydro.

Aboriginal Relations Coordinator

I supported internal BC Hydro project teams with their public engagement activities for large capital projects, I piloted and evaluated new software tools, developed web-interfaces for our services and found new ways to glean data from our engagement activities.
