What I Do (Spoiler: It's a Lot!)

I juggle digital marketing clients and run training sessions. 

I've managed a cool $3M in ad budget (yep, that's million with an 'M') and have trained over 6,000 students (and still counting). 

You might also know me as the COO of Avignyata Inc., a digital marketing agency that's as dynamic as the internet itself.



Why me? 

Well, I've worked with over 1,400 clients across various industries - from fashion giants like Shopper Stop to entertainment bigwigs like Disney. 

I'm not just playing in the digital sandbox; I'm building castles here. 

And when I'm not strategizing for big names, I'm sharing my secrets as a digital marketing trainer since 2014.

Freelancing is getting saturated.

Everyone and their cousin is suddenly a copywriter, web designer, or social media manager. And that's OK!

Freelancing is awesome, but scaling is HARD.

Trading time for money has its limits. You'll hit a ceiling where you can't take on more clients or raise prices without burning out.

That's where productization comes in...

Templates you use for clients
Ebooks or guides
Small group coaching programs
These offer higher margins, less hands-on time, and the potential to reach a much wider audience.

But productized services need an audience. They need marketing and (ideally) some paid ads to generate consistent leads.

Ahref can't do everything for you. It's more of a timesaver than a replacement for solid audience research. So:

Don't settle for generic audience targeting in your ads
Learn how to build in-depth customer personas
Use those detailed personas to target the right people with your ads

This is one example. Apply the core idea to every ad campaign you run.

To build a successful agency with a team of 10+. 
A lesson it took me 17 years to learn:

Here's why:

Authority & Trust: 
Clients hire people, not logos. Sharing my expertise builds instant credibility for the agency.

Differentiation: 
In a crowded market, my unique POV makes the agency stand out, justifying premium pricing.

Magnet for Talent: 
Top talent wants to work with visible leaders, making recruiting easier.

Future-Proofing: 
If I want to pivot someday, my audience and reputation come with me – the agency doesn't own that.

Attracting Ideal Clients: 
People who resonate with me become better long-term agency clients.

Sure, there are downsides:

Less Anonymity: 
Putting myself out there means more scrutiny and the occasional troll.

Consistency: 
My personal brand needs as much attention as the agency brand, which takes effort.

Potential Misalignment: 
If my values ever shift, I need to address how that aligns with the agency.

But the upsides far outweigh them.

Freelancers struggling to scale should hire a VA too.  

Here's why:

It forces you to document your processes (systems > hustle)
It frees up time for higher-value tasks only YOU can do
It introduces you to managing someone, a vital skill for growth

Don't overwhelm yourself with a full-time hire just yet. 
But if you're turning down work due to lack of time, start delegating. 

It's worth it.

Thinking of running paid ads for your business?
Smart move. But here's a few things before you hire an agency:

1️⃣ Don't expect instant miracles, even with the best strategy in the world.
Ads take time to optimize. Anyone guaranteeing overnight leads is selling you snake oil. A good agency is transparent about this.

2️⃣ Be prepared to invest some serious budget – and lose some of it at first.
This is about testing, learning, and scaling what works. "Testing on a shoestring" limits your data and slows progress. Be realistic.

3️⃣ Understand you'll need to provide assets for best results.
Your agency can write copy, but YOU are the expert on your business. Expect to provide product info, testimonials, images, etc.

If this still sounds doable, you're the kind of client agencies LOVE to work with.

If it doesn't, there's no shame in that!

Don't waste money on ads because you feel pressured. It'll just give them a bad reputation.

I'm rooting for you, either way

Your client doesn't think your work is hard.
They think they could have done it, given the time.

Most clients have a 'nephew in college' who could've made that website for way cheaper.

Here's how this misconception hurts your agency:

Devalues Your Expertise: 
Clients underestimate the strategy, research, and skill behind results.

Hamstrings Negotiations: 
They balk at fair pricing because they don't see the true value you bring.

Invites Scope Creep: 
The line between "simple tweak" and major change blurs in their minds.

Here's how I combat this:

Results-Focused Language: 
I talk outcomes, not tasks. "Increase sales by X%" is clearer than "build a Shopify store".

Transparent Process: 
Briefly outline key steps without revealing all my expertise, building respect for the work involved.

Case Studies & Testimonials: 
Let past clients explain the difference you made and the challenges you solved.

Assume they think it's easy until proven otherwise.

Make it your job to educate them on your value.

Niching down is a superpower.

Most freelancers try to do everything for everyone.

The result? Burn out and low rates.

Successful freelancers focus on:

One service they're exceptional at
One specific type of client
One message for acquiring those clients
By niching down, they create:

Authority in their field
Higher-paying clients
Predictable lead flow
So, if attracting clients feels like a struggle?

It's time to niche down.

Specialize in a specific service.
Serve a well-defined audience.
Become the go-to expert in your space.

Embrace the power of focus.

Focus on client understanding first, then optimize your offer.

Write proposals that speak to their pain points, then worry about pricing tiers.

If you do the reverse?

Your proposals will sound generic and forgettable.

Instead, start with these questions to get into the client's head:

What problem keeps them up at night?
What's their biggest fear about hiring someone for this?
What's their ultimate desired outcome?

Then write your proposal draft without focusing on the "sell".

Lastly, add in your packages, pricing, and process. 
Structure it around the answers to those core questions.

Your proposals will be far more persuasive, I promise.

My number 1 frustration on LinkedIn: Unresponsive agencies.

As someone running ads for clients, I get how frustrating it is to wait days for a reply to a simple question.

Here's the problem: We get a LOT of inquiries, and it's easy to lose track – even the promising ones.

This hurts because:

1. It reflects poorly on the agency, even if the work itself is top-notch.

2. Speed matters – those ready to invest often move on quickly.

3. It makes internal tracking harder, impacting our ability to analyze lead sources and conversion rates.

When pitching to clients, this used to be my process:

Initial call to gauge interest
Send lengthy proposal with multiple pricing options
Wait anxiously for days/weeks for a reply
Revise the proposal based on feedback (often meaning lower rates)
Finally get the client to sign... only to start the process over again immediately
It was exhausting and unpredictable.

Now, this is my process:

Pre-qualify leads with a short intake form
Send templated package options with clear pricing (take it or leave it)
Schedule calls only with those who are a good fit
Close a high percentage of those calls
Focus on delivering amazing results for great clients
It's streamlined, efficient, and lets me protect my time.

This is how you achieve agency freedom.

It's about valuing your expertise, not chasing every lead.

5 Red Flags to Avoid at Companies & 5 Green Flag Questions to ask the hiring manager:

Imagine working for a company that:

→ Hires new talent every week
→ Offers no training or growth opportunities
→ Has a high employee turnover rate

This company doesn't care about its current team.

It views employees as disposable.

𝗟𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁.

When you join a company, you're committing to them long-term.

Here's why you should avoid companies like this:

1) Your skills won't be valued

2) You won't have growth opportunities

3) You'll have a poor work-life balance

4) You'll have job insecurity

5) You'll feel unappreciated


Before accepting an offer, ask questions to understand the company's work culture:

1) How do you train employees?

2) What growth opportunities are available?

3) What's the average employee tenure?

4) How does the company promote work-life balance?

5) How does the company recognize and appreciate employees?


Loyalty should go both ways.

Choose a company that invests in you, and you will invest in them.

And when the time comes to move on, you'll know that you're not disposable, that you were valued, and that you have the skills to succeed.
