Senior executive with more than 20 years of international experience in the biotech industry. Experienced with venture-backed early-stage and mid-sized growth phase companies in the areas of executive leadership roles, operations management, technology development, and commercial development. I have held multiple C-Level positions in mid-sized growth-phase companies as well as having been involved in four startups, giving me a broad understanding of how scientific and commercial development has to be tightly integrated to establish a market presence and create long-term value. In addition, I have direct M&A experience including valuation analysis, turnaround & financial restructuring, and post-acquisition organizational integration. My current work is primarily with companies in the molecular diagnostics and NGS space. Recent work has involved both commercial development and technology development projects related to Covid diagnostics, CRISPR-based diagnostic platform development and metagenomics-based Next Generation Sequencing for viral infectious disease testing, and NGS Library Prep kits. I began in the research lab, originally in experimental physics, jumping mid-career into the biotech industry; leading R&D and software development groups in the development of high-throughput robotic platforms for DNA and peptide synthesis, gene-array printing, and high-throughput MALDI-TOF.  In addition, I've run high-throughput oligonucleotide facilities and genetic sequencing facilities, both Sanger and NGS.  I have the scientific knowledge to understand the scientific and technical side of the business, but the business experience to translate the science into successful products for the research and clinical diagnostics business.
