Gaining knowledge and experience while learning to:
•	Interpret Master keying guides to interpret and preserve the integrity of an individual’s or organisation’s restricted key system;
•	Install, repair, change, and service locks and securities of all types;
•	Repair or change key combinations on safes;
•	Construct or duplicate keys from existing ones, patterns, and codes;
•	Maintain  mechanical and electronic key card systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, regular maintenance of the lock system
•	Issue keys to members of the organisation and keep records of the keys issued and returned
•	Replace or service worn out components of a door security system, including the lock, tumblers, springs, and other parts.

Safe Places youth workers help achieve this vision through their patience, genuine care and commitment. Over time, the team gains the child’s trust, stabilises the placement, gives the child a
sense of hope and direction and achieves outcomes across key areas of the child’s life.

Safe Places for Children provides children at risk with intensive support and supervision. Referrals
are received through the government department responsible for the protection of children. 

The team work to see children transition into suitable longer-term placements.

Celebrating small steps, including seeing the child engage in the placement, build rapport with their team and contribute to daily plans;

Primary Objective: Advise, develop and manage a team of Youth Outreach and Re-Engagement Officers in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory youth diversion and re-engagement services in accordance with relevant legislation and Territory Families program policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision, training and development of a team of staff involved in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory youth diversion and re-engagement services.
Develop and maintain effective, collaborative partnerships and strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders at local and Territory levels.
Undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise delegations under the Care and Protection of Children Act in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Review project performance and focus on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement for the work unit. 
As a member of the Department’s management team, contribute to the overall management of the office, including data collection, practice standards, workload trends, program development, community networking and consultation to achieve an integrated best practice approach to service delivery.
Participate in the Agency’s After Hours Youth Services.

Manager - Youth Outreach & Re-engagement Team, Territory Families

Work in partnership with police to investigate allegations of serious physical and sexual abuse cases and utilise your expertise to deliver services to achieve quality outcomes for Territory Families clients in accordance with legislative and policy guidelines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for assessing and investigating complex physical and sexual abuse cases which may require a joint investigation with Northern Territory Police.
Maintain a high level of services to clients through the provision of professional expertise and demonstrated best practice in the delivery of statutory welfare services.
Undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise delegations under the Care and Protection of Children Act in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Provide support, training and education to staff on program and practice issues to enhance their skills, knowledge and understanding of programs.
Ensure the availability of reliable data through the accurate and timely recording of information on the Department’s client information and case management systems.  

Essential Criteria:
A degree of an Australian tertiary institution, OR Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention AND Vocational Graduate Certificate in Community Services Practice (Statutory Child Protection).
Extensive experience commensurate with the duties of the position, including highly developed professional skills in conducting strength based assessments, developing and delivering effective interventions, and a demonstrated capacity to apply best practice principles.
Significant experience working within a legislative framework and a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team setting in particular with Police, Sex Crimes Unit.

Senior Child Protection Practitioner - Territory Families

Provide statutory and non-statutory welfare services to individuals, groups and communities The Department of Children and Families (DCF) provides a range of services focused on protecting children in the Northern Territory from harm. DCF is focused on growing our capacity to deliver key child protection, out-of-home-care and family support services across the Territory, for children and families living in challenging and complex circumstances.

Essential Criteria:
A degree which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Community Workers Association, the Australian Association of Social Workers, or the Australian Psychological Society, or equivalent OR Diploma of Child, Youth and Family Intervention AND Vocational Graduate Certificate in Community Services Practice (Statutory Child Protection).

Child Protection Practitioner - Territory Families

Be responsible for the supervision, training and development of a team of staff involved in the delivery of statutory and non statutory welfare services.
Ensure the availability of reliable data through the accurate and timely recording of information on the Departments client information and case management systems.
As a member of the DCF Management team, contribute to the overall management of the office, including data collection, practice standards, workload trends, program development, community networking and consultation to achieve an integrated best practice approach to service delivery. 
Inform consult and negotiate with Indigenous communities and organisations on matters relevant to the development, implementation and monitoring of responses to child protection concerns.
Undertake extensive travel to remote communities for periods of time, to provide regular support and supervision to Aboriginal staff in remote communities.

Team Leader - Department of Children & Families

Develop and manage the programs Information Management System.
Develop appropriate databases, systems and collection processes relevant to the RAFCP reporting requirements.
Coordinate and maintain data collections and reporting processes ensuring services are meeting their obligations regarding mandated data collection and reporting requirements.

Supervise and lead a team of probation and parole officers and casual personnel to address the core aims of NTCS.

Assist in the expansion of the program to Indigenous communities modifying the content and delivery to suit.
Provide training and support to Indigenous co-facilitators.
Assist in the delivery of a program to domestic violence perpetrators including those subject to Court or Parole Orders providing a strategy for reducing domestic violence and re-offending. Ensure action is taken in relation to any breach of conditions.
