To say the air is thin at the top, really doesn’t capture the feeling of total isolation that can be felt by many leaders. And I don’t believe for a second that this is intentional. Truth 1️⃣: Leadership roles are purposeful, rewarding, and lonely. Even with a good team by one’s side, some conversations simply cannot be had with anyone at work. There are gaps that nobody there can help close, especially if there are no real friends around. According to Gallup, only 2 in 10 adults claim to have a best friend at work, and more than 300 million people globally don’t have a single friend. So… a leadership coach? The last thing a leader needs is a know-it-all coach, talking about gratitude journals and meditation. I mean, both are fine, but leaders are individuals with unique needs. Truth 2️⃣: You don’t need a leadership coach because you already know how to lead. You need a coach who works with leaders. That’s what I do. I’m a certified coach with over a decade in various leadership roles. I’m also someone who has pushed himself into uncomfortable situations just to see what I could take. ✔️I’ve trained countless people on how to live healthier lives, ✔️Trained others to do the same, and then ✔️Trained the people that would train those trainers. And I’ve also owned a successful pizzeria in Costa Rica, moved abroad twice, and started over so many times in my life that I’ve lost track. But none of that has made me a better coach. It’s my clients that help me grow more than anything I’ve studied or survived. It’s you. Truth 3️⃣: Intentions are one powerful way through any gap. My angle is intentions because intentions answer the simple question: What do I really want to make happen? And that’s where we start. Intentions are not a solve-all, but they do make for a wise and stable touchstone when there’s a gap worth closing. Whether it’s personal or professional development, guiding change, or solving the feeling of isolation, we have to first know what exactly it is you want to make happen, and for what reason. Wouldn’t you like to know more? DM me. I’m happy to share.
