Today, 37,926 12-year-olds across Singapore received their PSLE results.

(The PSLE is a national examination that determines which secondary school a child enters.)

Some will celebrate.
Some will cry.
Some parents will silently worry.

But let’s remember this:

Success isn’t decided by one exam.

Be it PSLE, other exams, challenges, or setbacks in life - success is rarely born from perfection.

It’s built on bricks of failed attempts, false starts, and fresh tries.

If your child has done their best -
Celebrate with them.

If your child didn’t get the result you hoped for -
Please pause and breathe.

One exam doesn’t define their future.
And it certainly doesn’t define their worth.

What they need now isn’t pressure, but.. 
Love.
Perspective.
And belief in who they’re becoming.

That message on the wall says it all:

Life 2.0 wasn’t built on wins alone.

It was built from bricks of:

Here’s what I’ve learned - and what I’d offer any parent (or child) navigating disappointment:

1. This isn’t the end.
   It’s just one part of the story.

2. Hold space, not judgment.
  They’re listening more than you think.

3. Model resilience.
  Show them how to rise, not just succeed.

4. Celebrate effort.
  Courage counts too.

5. Keep stacking.
  The next brick matters more than the last one.

I’ve learned something the hard way:

It’s not just what we do that shapes our day.
It’s who we do it with.

Some people lift you.
Others slowly drain your energy.

Not with big dramatic moments -
but with tiny cuts. Every single day.

A glance.
A whisper.
A silence.

These things matter.
More than we admit.

Here are the signs to watch for:

1. Backhanded compliments
↳ “Wow, you actually did a great job.”
↳ Their praise always has a sting.

2. Taking credit for your work
↳ You put in the effort.
↳ They take the spotlight.

3. Constant gossiping
↳ If they gossip with you…
↳ They’ll gossip about you.

4. Passive-aggressive behaviour
↳ Eye rolls. Sarcasm. Delayed replies.
↳ You start questioning yourself - that’s the trap.

5. Undermining in meetings
↳ They interrupt, challenge, or “correct” you.
↳ Not to add value, but to feel superior.

6. Withholding information
↳ “Oops, forgot to CC you.” Again.
↳ Gatekeeping as a power move.

7. Mood swings that affect everyone
↳ You tiptoe around them.
↳ They call it “just stress.” Every week.

8. Playing the victim
↳ They twist the story so they’re always the ones harmed.

9 Red Flags That Reveal A Toxic Coworker

The most dangerous mindset in your career?

Thinking you already know it all.

Years ago, 
I used to nod along in meetings, pretending I understood.

Even when the jargon went over my head.
Even when the strategy didn’t make sense.

I didn’t want to seem slow.
Or out of my depth.
Or not "leadership material."

So I stayed quiet.
Smiled.
Took notes I didn’t fully get.

I thought asking questions would make me look weak.
But all it did was keep me stuck.

Until one day, a colleague pulled me aside and said:
"You don’t have to know everything.
But you do have to stay open."

That moment changed everything.

When I let go of the pressure to appear smart,
I finally gave myself permission to grow.

I asked more.
Listened more.
Learned faster.

I got better.
And people trusted me more.

You’re not supposed to know it all.
But you are supposed to stay open.

That’s how we grow.

Here are 5 ways I’ve learned to stay teachable:

It’s created by clarity.

In the past few weeks, I’ve spoken with leaders from very different worlds - retail, banking, tech, telco.

And interestingly, the same quiet question has been coming up:

“There’s so much change… am I still relevant?”

It’s a question many people carry quietly, especially in seasons where the world feels louder than usual.

One thing I’ve been noticing:

When the pace around us accelerates, our minds naturally assume we’re behind,
even when that’s not true.

Most of the time, it’s not about capability or age or whether we’re “fast enough.”
It comes down to something more fundamental:

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.

And the leaders who navigate change well aren’t the ones chasing every update or trend.

They’re the ones who stay grounded in very human strengths - clarity, curiosity, creativity, connection.

When clarity returns, even a little, things feel lighter.
Decisions become simpler.

We stop comparing timelines and start moving in a way that feels right for where we are now.

Lately, I’ve been asking myself small questions like:
“What matters for me this week?”
“What can I put down?”
“What’s one step that feels doable today?”

They’re simple questions, but they create just enough space for perspective to return.

7 Essential Secrets to Lasting Happiness

Before we design what’s next, we need to pause and ask: what truly matters now?

This Thanksgiving, I’ve been feeling a mix of emotions.

Gratitude, yes.
But also… reflection.

What this year gave me.
What it asked of me.
What I chose, and what I didn’t choose, but had to carry anyway.

And through it all, I find myself coming back to this:

💜 Clients who trust me with their growth
💜 Brave professionals redefining success on own terms
💜 Small, sacred circles where deep work happens

Tomorrow, I’ll be holding space for one of those circles: my community of Life Designers and Life 2.0ers to design their 2026 vision.

But before I guide others through reflection and visioning, I’m taking a moment to do the same for myself.

If you haven’t had a chance to pause, here’s a gentle invitation.

1. What are you genuinely grateful for - beneath the surface?
• A lesson you didn’t expect
• A challenge that shaped you in quiet ways

2. What are you holding onto that you’ve outgrown?
• An old story, title, or expectation

Spotify says my listening age is 28.

I’ll take it 😂.

That's many years (or decades) younger than my actual age.
It made me smile.

I listen to a diverse genre from Mambo Jumbo, Cantopop, R&B, to Kpop and latest hits:

Feel good tracks. 
Songs that feel like sunshine.
Lyrics that remind me of freedom, energy, and happy times.

And it got me thinking -
Why do we let numbers define us?

Age.
Salary.
Titles.
Years in the same role.
The “shoulds” we’ve collected over time.

Somewhere along the way, we start believing these numbers tell us what we can and cannot do.

But here’s what I’ve learned - through my own reinvention, and by coaching others through theirs:

We are not our age.
We are our energy.
Our curiosity.
Our courage to begin again.

We are not too late.
We are not done.

Reinvention doesn’t have a deadline.
Your next chapter doesn’t need permission.

So as we look ahead to 2026, this is the energy I’m choosing:

Less “Am I too old?”
More “How alive do I feel?”

So if you're hearing the quiet whisper of "there must be more"…
Lean in.
