I am a qualified Australian, European and UK patent attorney with over 20 years experience. I help foreign companies to obtain patents in Australia and New Zealand and help Australian companies to obtain patents all over the world.

I am familiar with the European, Chinese and US patent systems having worked in private practice in London, Beijing and Hong Kong, and as an in-house attorney for a US multinational. My practice includes drafting, prosecution, oppositions, advice on infringement and validity, prior art and freedom to operate searches, as well as general advice on registered designs and other forms of IP protection.

I can handle most mechanical, electrical and software inventions. I have drafted over 150 patent applications and have particular experience in the following areas:

I supervised a team of 3 attorneys in Madrid and had overall responsibility for our in-house European patent filings. I also advised the business on Asian patent matters, especially in China and Japan. 

I managed the patent portfolio for the Pointnext business, with worldwide responsibility for inventor outreach, patent scrubs, chairing patent committee meetings, reviewing invention disclosures and prior art searches, determining filing strategy and managing outside law firms. 

I also personally drafted patent applications and office action responses for a wide range of complex technologies, including enterprise networking, wireless, servers, software, machine learning, photonics and electronics.

I help companies obtain strong, enforceable patents in Australia and overseas. I especially enjoy working with medical device companies and also mining and computer technologies. I have drafted over 150 patents in the ICT space.
