👋. Thanks for checking out my profile. There’s just a few things to draw to your attention: 1. The success and progress I’ve made in each role are because I genuinely care for people. In the non-profit world, that meant helping people through mental illness or personal crisis. As a youth director, it meant helping teenagers form caring relationships with adults in their lives. In sales, it means detaching from the outcome and finding the folks who will really benefit from the product. 2. I went from the non-profit world to the for-profit world because I realized that I can do all the things I loved in the non-profit world as a volunteer. I always admired how my volunteers gave their time to our cause. Now, I hope to bless causes I care about in the same way. 3. I like to learn. My experience may seem a little unconnected. I’ve found that each career jump was made to an industry or profession where I had skills to succeed, but would have opportunities to learn. Take my current job as an example. I had a lot of the soft skills to succeed in sales coming from the social work world. Active-listener, problem solver, etc. I didn’t have a lot of skills in negotiating or closing business.
