Daniel Passley is a 29-year-old communication specialist, television presenter, emcee, voice-over talent, and writer. He currently serves as the Public Education and Advocacy Officer at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service. He was the acting Director of Public Affairs and Communication at the Ministry of National Security and previously held roles as the public relations officer and public relations manager at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service. He began his tenure at the Ministry as a graduate trainee in May 2018. He has moderated the Finance Minister’s Post Budget Presentation Press Conference and the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) 5th Review Mission Press Conference and other high-level signing ceremonies. He was the host of the Ministry’s television programme Finance Matters which aired during the Jamaica Magazine Programme, and producer of the Revenue Appeals Division 5th Anniversary Documentary. Before joining the Ministry of Finance, Daniel honed his skills while working as a television and radio presenter and producer at NCU Media Group for 3 ½ years. In addition, he was given the opportunity to be a Presenter/Producer/ Reporter at Jamaica News Network where he hosted live coverage of Jamaica’s Local Government Elections in November 2016. He holds a BA (Hons) in Communication Studies with an emphasis in journalism from Northern Caribbean University. He is pursuing an MA in Mass Communication at Liverpool John Moores University. While a student at NCU, he was a Platinum Honouree and Gold Scholar, television host for graduation ceremonies, and moderator for United Student Movement Inauguration Ceremonies and Debates. In March 2018, he narrated an award-winning documentary, Autism: The Struggles… Their Journey won Best Mini-Documentary at the Lignum Vitae Film Festival.
