Tasks included problem solving (test systems/product), test system maintenance, reporting results and report writing for validation purposes. Equipment used: R&S CRTU-C/G & ORGA SIM simulators

IP phone.  Developing Siemens J2ME compliant virtual machine: analyse, design, implement, test, deliver and maintain J2ME APIs written in Java/C++ for MIDP/CLDC variants. This project was part of the development of the Siemens Optipoint 600 VoIP phone. Throughout the placement, strict deadlines and guidelines were adhered to. The project had to be forwarded to the Münich office ASAP and have passed all MIDP/TCK tests to be J2ME compliant.  An introduction to VxWorks Tornado and ClearCase were also obtained.

Embedded Systems Software Engineer

Mobile technology equipment/product testing at alpha & beta stages, and testing of GSM 2G+ mobile protocols. The project involved testing the MS Layer3 software: creating test cases (C++) and channel configuration files on R&S CRTU-C/TS8916 - which simulated the radio access network – and thereby validating the protocol software.
