I am a Data Science Professional and a Lecturer with 23 years of corporate and entrepreneurship experience under the belt, and projects encompassing data from up to 60 million people from around the globe. Contributing to strategic goals of industry leaders such as Grupo Globo and Telefonica, as well as to startups requiring innovative and creative approach, allowed me to develop a rather unique and versatile skill-set, given the diverse nature of those businesses. I have also founded Dash, a consulting and software development startup, which I led for six great years and successfully exited afterwards. During my career, I gradually shifted focus from general leadership to where my real passion lies – pure data science. In that regard, I have worked on a variety of projects with a large number of data sets, and across most competitive markets, including the USA and Latin America, always with quantifiable contributions to organization’s bottom line. When it comes to lecturing, I have designed and executed Data Science courses and workshops for more than 150,000 individuals. My areas of expertise include: ► Comprehensive knowledge of different data types – structured and unstructured data sources. ► Expertise in relational databases – modeling and querying with SQL language. ► Data analysis, cleaning and preparation using Python – Numpy and Pandas. ► Using statistical analysis and machine learning models in Python – Scikit Learn. ► Understanding the theoretical side of statistics and machine learning algorithms. ► Utilizing data visualization techniques to perform exploratory data analysis and presentations of findings – using packages like matplotlib with Python or tools like Power BI, Tableau and Dundas BI. ► The ability to interpret and communicate complex concepts in layman’s terms – from technical teams to executives, and even government leaders.
