My passion, and work, is transforming messy Big Data into actionable insights. My research blends the latest advancements in Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) with financial and economic theories. My background as a truck mechanic helps me see research questions through a practical and creative lens; that, along with the academic rigour learned during my PhD and the business mindset acquired during my first degree in Business Administration, gives me the ability to engage with various customer, proactively adapt to different research areas and work environments. The deployed Big Data into quantitative models is often gathered from people without their full consent. While on the one hand, sharing data is crucial to improving safety and knowledge dissemination, on the other hand, people’s privacy should be preserved. To contribute to these two competing objectives, I have recently embraced the Privacy Enhancing Technology (PET) research field and work on Web3. Today, my ultimate goal is to corroborate the economics and finance field using Big and unstructured data, while raising awareness about the importance of data privacy.
