Exclusively practiced in family law since admission in 2007. Forever passionate for family law, I commenced work experience in family law firms in my senior years of education and then took back up work experience in family law firms as part of my university studies. I hold a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2006, completed my Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2006 and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in early 2007. I have practised in boutique law firms on both the Gold Coast and in Brisbane before operating my own practice in 2011. Wanting to help more families, I made the difficult decision to close my practise and returned to work in private practice in 2016. I have a passion for helping families resolve their legal disputes and a drive for delivering quality legal advice for people from all different backgrounds. My dual degree with psychology ignites my passion to help people in one of their most challenging times of their lives and equips me with qualified knowledge and understanding of human behaviours and the effects of separation on parents and children. I am a no-nonsense lawyer and consider myself competent in negotiating matters to save parties the turmoil of contested litigation. Not one to shy away from an argument however I also have exceptional advocacy skills in the Court room. Away from law, I like to spend my spare time fussing over my two adorable Shih Tzu’s. If the weekend doesn’t revolve around puppies then it is usually spent in my MDC caravan at any random off grid location I can find (Shih Tzu’s in tow of course!). I am very supportive of my community and small businesses. I am an active committee member of the Centenary & Districts Chamber of Commerce. I'm the kind of person that will buy a prawn peeler from my local community member starting up their business despite me having a serious aversion to seafood. I just like supporting others in life, in business and in my job. I think it is important that people can accept an ending to their relationships and move on. I understand how heartbreaking and soul crushing that time of life can be however I strongly believe that by dragging out property settlement or parenting disputes, we are just adding to our pain unnecessarily. Rip that band aid off I say, accept it for what it is (because being bitter is not going to change a thing except your own mental well being) and move on, a better life that awaits you.
